Thanks. This was probably our lowest moment we've experienced in our travels so far. Hopefully our experience will help others avoid our mistakes! LOL Safe travels!
Hi friends! Rainy here as I’m watching too! The rain walls are a good idea! We were supposed to stay a wilderness! Good job backing up! Love the banter about backing up 😂 Michelle, your face when he says she follows the directions 😂. We need to reverse rolls more often but I’m a control freak 😬. Must have rained a lot! Dennis does not look happy. Not much fun tending to a canopy all weekend. Sorry 😢 water inside the camper is no joke! Oh man. You should see the amount of duct tape on our rig at the moment 😮. Sorry your camping trip was so miserable! Glad you got a bit of sun. We can sure relate to the stress! Look forward to seeing the next one.
Yes, having to use duct tape was a bummer but we're so glad we had it. Duct tape to the rescue!!! Ha ha ha! Yes, I was being a stinker while we were talking about reversing roles but we have a saying around here. "We tease because we love." No rain here, lately, but we got almost 2 feet of snow in the past few days. So crazy! Wilderness State Park is wonderful and I hope you get a chance to camp there someday! ❤️
Love the canopy and walls! This is a great idea with tiny campers. That must have been some heavy rain to collapse it. Long periods of rain definitely are the downside of teardrop camping. Yes, stressful! The nice days do have a way of making you forget though. We're new camper owners and Tim has done all the parking so far. I'm nervous to try, but want to learn. Thanks for sharing both the ups and downs.
Yes, it's really helpful to have a comfortable space outside since indoor space is limited. But yes, it poured. It was crazy! As for backing up, take the opportunity to try it when you're in a wide open space so there isn't any pressure. Or even practice in your yard. It's always good for both travelers to know how to do everything in case one person gets injured or something. We still have a long way to go but we've started working on doing that. Thanks so much for watching!
That is a total bummer. Sorry that you guys went thru that. I guess it's all part of the adventure though... Or at least that's how we've tried to think of it when mishaps occur. At least the sun came out. Looking forward to seeing what you ended up doing. Thanks for sharing. Peace and Safe Travels.
Thanks, Craig. Yeah, it felt like the rain just kept coming and the hard stuff was piling up. But you're right. Persevering through all that and getting to the other side just makes the good stuff even sweeter. We're looking forward to showing everyone the sunnier side of Wilderness State Park. It really is a beautiful place! Safe travels to you and Shelley as well.
We had similar experience with our ARB awning but yeah at least the inside our camper was all good. We have made now some adjustments to the awning and all should be fine. Yeah camping is like life, it has it's ups and downs 🙂 Good to see you did not give up 🏋️
We definitely need to beef up our awning next spring before we take it back out with us again. It sounds like there are things you can do with pool noodles so that the corners won't fail like that. We'll leave it home for any winter camping that we do so we don't have to worry about it for a while. But yes... just a good reminder not to let your emotions get the best of you. There's usually a reward on the other side if you take a deep breath and hang on until the worst of it passes.
Rain!! Yeah that is a bummer. Glad the sun came out. And with backing a small trailer, it is harder than backing a bigger trailer. It’s almost as bad as backing an empty small lawn and garden cart with a lawn tractor. Lol. I use the “put your hand at the bottom of the steering wheel and turn it toward the way you want the trailer to go” method. Works well. Adjust your mirrors down so you can see the edges of a the driveway or campsite and make small adjustments. The pivot point is exaggerated with a small trailer with less weight. Sorry about the trailer leaking. That is no good. I would be very mad too. Glad the sun did come out and you had some nice times at the end. 😀
Good tip! I'll have to keep that in mind. Yeah, it was tough to deal with the camper leak on top of the canopy collapse. Fortunately the weather took a turn for the better after all of that so we could enjoy most of our trip.
Hey good lookin’ whatcha cookin’ 😂 I gotta use that line. Liked the movie nuggets dropped, pleased to see Merry and Pippin suddenly appear 😂 Oh but what a bummer with all that rain 🥲 Dennis looked absolutely bummed and understandable. Looked like a mess. The sun popping out eventually was a silverlining though.
Ha ha! We love Lord of the Rings so we couldn't resist popping them in and adding a little humor. Yes, this was honestly the lowest moment we've had in our travels and we thought we should share it with everyone because traveling does have its challenges. Yes, the camera didn't even pick up all of the dirt and grime that was everywhere. But yes, so thankful we were there long enough for the sun to come out and everything to dry up. Our next video from this location will we much happier. Thanks so much for your continued support! ❤️
Thanks so much. We did a search on RU-vid and I think we found that same video. We definitely plan to grab some pool noodles next spring. Who knew canopy corners giving out was a thing!?! 🤣
