doesnt matter if you like pro gunners, it is INSANELY hard for people to move there legally, unless you marry an american. Getting an immigrant work visa takes something like a bachelors at least and some work experience, or an investors visa, which costs 500 000USD

Best deal i have ever got was theres an old guy with an ww2 collection with over 5000 guns from all countries. He sold me a mint condition luger p08 if i mowed his lawn and cleaned out his shed. Thats the best deal ever! He also gave me a couple hundred rounds of ammunition because i repaired his bicycle.

I once found a High Point 9mm for $65 at a gun show and I know high point normally a joke kinda gun but I couldn't pass it up for that cheap and I ended up selling it for $200 about a year later so win win.

monski 123 Some go for $300+ I believe. They’re considered shitty because they’re cheap, heavy, and ugly. But they’re surprisingly reliable and great at eating up all the shitty ammo you put through them.

My best pawn shop score was in my native Montana when I was in high school. It was an 1863 Remington Zouave .58 caliber contract rifle. It was NRA good condition and for some reason I knew I should buy it. I didn't even know what it was but the .58 bore was clean and in perfect shape so I haggled the owner down to 50.00. That was in 1970 I still have it an it's worth around 1500.00 or so.

Walked into a backwoods pawn shop & waited for my eyes to adjust to the gloom. The first gun in saw was a Winchester 93. It had seen better days but pristine 93s don't exist. The owner said it was a 97. Not wanting to argue, I waited for him to tell me about all the flaws. I eventually had to stop him before he threw it in the trash. Walked out with a so so 93 for 60 bucks. I was inconsolable.

I've gone into pawn shops and regular gun stores that have clerks who should be out shoveling dog crap off the grass and others that have some really knowledgeable individuals working there who will take the time to work with a customer the sell their product. There was a place in Sedalia MO that had a great collection of guns on the wall but the clerk was as useless as an out of date politician. I walked around looking at the stuff on the walls and in the cabinets and shelves. Finally I saw one weapon I was interested in and after waiting about 20 mnutes he finally put down the phone with his GF and came over. I saw an old single shot Remington .22 that was in good condition. Showed signs of usage but not abuse, it was clean and tight with no rattle. They wanted $100. at the time and I walked out with it for $25 after dickering with him back and forth. I was out at the firing range a couple of months later and playing with my new toy. An older gentleman came up and was shooting and we got to talking. He said he had one just like mine but had to sell it a few months back when he moved and was getting rid of some older weapons. We got to chatting and he had sold it along with some others to the same pawn shop and needed the money to pay some bills and move. Turned out it was the same weapon that he had sold. It was one his father had given him when he was a young man back around 1930 or so. He said he really missed his old rabbit gun. Before We parted I sold it back to him for what I paid for it. He was extremely happy to have it back and I must admit I was happy although I loved that weapon it was a fun shooter and accurate as hell.

Which pawn shop? I don't pass through Sedalia very often, but that sounds like the kind of place that's worth a stop. $25 for any shooter is a steal, let alone an old gallery gun.

the best deal I ever got besides free guns was a P38 a guy was selling and I jokingly told him I give him a hundred bucks he said make it 120 and we have a deal. no import mark matching Mauser upper w Walther frame

smartacus88 he knew it was a good deal and was selling all the guns his dad had left him that had been in closet for decades he just wanted them to go to people who would enjoy them. also got a sporterized arisaka from him for 150$. he sold all the long guns for 150 even a Winchester 70 that my friend got. he wasn't mad about it at all and knew it was worth more. I'm just glad I got dibs on it before my friends did

Great video for all of us pawn/gun shop snoopers. A lot of fun and entertainment even if you don't buy anything. About 1980 or 1981 a firearm distributor we dealt with sold off their Winchester 490 .22 semi-autos, 3 for $100. Needless to say we bought all they had left and sold or traded them at gun shows for the next few years. Of course, we kept a few for ourselves since they are such great shooters. Jess

I worked for three Greek brothers in Atlanta that had multiple pawn shops. Our general rule was to never loan or pay more than 25% of what we thought we could sell the item for. Remember this, and negotiate.

i took a gamble when looking for a 22lr rifle.... i went in to a local one and they had a savage stevens mod 300 for 120. The stock is cracked (made of plastic) but it wasnt anything that hindered the guns performance and they also had a glenfield 75c for 50 bucks because the magtube was missing and the mag stube slide was messed up but i fixed it :) i say it was pretty sweet deal.

Pawn shops mark and you haggle or dicker with them. Say they have a gun they paid 75.00 for, they mark it 190, Trust me if you offer 120-150 they will sell. I use to work for one PT. Especially if it sits.

My best gun shop find, as there were no pawn shops in my area back in 1979, was a black, nickle plated, flintlock pirate pistol, for $125. As I'd just gotten into muzzle-loader shooting, I recognized it as a possible antique. Turns out it was. It was a 1740 Dutch Dragoon pistol that someone had nickle plated and painted the stock black sometime in the past. After refinishing it and removing the nickle plating, I got over $1000 for it in 1980.

I have a pawn shop that I have peaked in a couple times, and it is owned by some grumpy old men who over price EVERYTHING (i.e. glock 43 for 600 when there is a giant gun store 3 miles away selling it for 480$). Both times they tried to sell me on some crap made 1911 priced at 1000+ and other ridiculous offers that I almost took offense to having been offered it.

Nice findings. About a week ago, I walk into a pawn shop to pick up a rifle of mine from pawn and was doing paperwork when some guy brought in a pile of guns. 13 when they counted them. Some of them milsurp. They was a 1917 Lee Enfield No1 Mk3, French MAS 36, Finish Mosin M91, and some other ones. I was on a high. XD Turns out, the guy was selling his deceased brother-in-law's gun collection to get a banjo that he wanted more. Funny thing was it was raining constantly that morning and they had to remove the guns from the car in the rain so they're wet. The shop knew me somewhat but not alot. I simply volunteered to help clean the water with a rag as I wait for the rain to stop cause I now had my gun which would get wet too. So they handed me a rag and I start wiping em off. The one that caught my attention most was the Mosin that had SA marked on the barrel and was not sporterized like the French or Lee Enfield rifles. I knew enough to know that this was Finish from just the marking alone but wasn't sure about differences between models. After hanging around in there for an hour, the guy had his banjo and the shop had to start cataloging these guns in. This shop is one of those that is definitely lacking in the know of what they have. In fact, my Mosin 91/30 was pawned as Mauser Nagant. 😁 Crazy but it could potentially be an advantage as well. Just before I left, I gave em my phone number and said to call me on the Finish Mosin as I was definitely interested. The next morning, after having brushed up on Finish Mosin Nagants and their markings, I went back to see what they truly had on hand. They let me look at it again and it was marked Tikka 1941. It definitely was a Finish M91. There was no price on it yet but the shop said to come back on the 24th and he'd have a price. So I said alright and walked out feeling pretty good. Now I can't wait. :3

I have been lucky enough to find a few great deals in pawnshops. I once got a DPMS LR-308 SASS for $650. They had just put it in the display case and said I was the first one to even look at it. The best part was they had layaway so for $150 down they held it for me. For the next 2 weeks I couldn't sleep thinking about it until I went and picked it up.

back in the late 80's i was in a junk shop down in phoenix looking at hand guns and my brother in law calls me over to the rack where this guy had around 150 long guns i paid 60 bucks for 1953 spanish 7.62 carbine that i wish i still had today because they were surplus when i bought it there was another 15-20 of them on the rack. now in original condition they are collectible and worth quite a bit more than 60 bucks

The best buys I ever got were from a small gun store that dealt in trade-ins. They don't have much room for stock, so they try to move things as fast as possible to make room for the higher-end stuff. Some good finds I got were an 80 year old Dalton 25 acp pocket pistol for $50, a kit-built muzzle-loading Kentucky-pattern rifle for $80, and a $150 12 gauge magnum turkey shotgun. All had scratches and dings, but all worked absolutely perfectly when I got it home.

My best deal has been an 8 shot Mossberg 500 with a 20" barrel plus heat shield for $215 out the door. The gun was clean, no rust and only had few scratches on the synthetic stock and heat shield. The only thing keeping me from walking into pawnshops now is the fact that I'm a broke college student. But one day I'll be out of school and I'll be hitting up pawnshops whenever I like just like y'all.

I found a 1943 production type 99 Arisaka barreled action with an intact chrysanthemum. Unfortunately it was sporterized, and rechambered in 30-06. But i picked it up for twenty bucks, and pieced the rest of it back together from eBay, all in I've invested about $160 in it.

The best pawn shop deal I found was an almost new Mossberg 500 security model (8 round tube) that one of the junior clerks had mistakenly tagged as a used Maverick 88. I'm friends with the folks who work there, so I showed it to the manager. A really cool guy, he said "Buy it and walk out. If you put it down on the counter, I'm fixing the tag and putting it back on the wall for $350." Needless to say, I walked to the other counter, shotgun in hand, to fill out the paperwork. $179 out the door. :-)

I bought a Norinco SKS about a year ago for $150 because it didn't have the box magazine on it but I happened to have a spare at home and it turned out to be a really good shooter and I was seeing them go for $400-500+ at the time. Also was looking for a cheap truck gun a few years ago and bought an unfired Maverick 88 with both barrels for $109 out the door. They didn't know it was unfired so it was basically a brand new gun for $80 less than new prices. Definitely some good deals out there if you look around.

best pawn shop deal, i got an "italian mouser" (yes, thats how they spelled it) m38 carcano in "dropped in the sand once" condition for $65. they had it marked $100 when i asked them if i could disassemble the bolt to check out the internals. it was covered with thick, dried oil and would hardly move. long story short, couldnt get the cocking piece nut off so i talked them down to 65.

Some of my best buys have been at pawn shops. A first model year S&W 1903 Hand Ejector for $120, a perfect Hungarian FÉG PA-63 for $200, a nice Norinco 213 for $200, a clean and only slightly sporterized (no cut barrel) M1898 Springfield Krag for $220, and an M93 Spanish Mauser sporter for $150.

You CANT buy anything from a pawn shop unless you don't care about money and getting fucked in the ass... plus they only ever have junk shit you would t look twice at. This is because of the gun shows. Anything worth a shit is taken there and sold for more than it's worth. The only deals are from individuals while your sitting BEHIND the table, but those days are long behind us. 🙄🔫

Since you are in Texas, about thirty years ago I was in a shop looking for stereo speakers and saw a 20 ga. 870 hanging on the wall behind the counter. I asked to look at it and on closer inspection it was a 1982 DU gun with gold inlay. Round Rock, TX was where it was and I bought it for $250 as I recall. Still have it too.

I have a knack for finding the ugliest gun on the wall and buying it. I actually just picked up an H&R Topper 12 GA single shot shotgun at a pawn shop for $80 out the door only because some idiot spray painted it camouflage. An hour later I had it cleaned good as new. I'm going to refinish the stock eventually but it functions just fine the bore was clean.

Me too. I've developed quite the collection of oddball crap that no one's heard of. I think one of my guns is literally one of a kind. I've never seen or heard of another one just like it. A couple weeks ago, one of my friends told me, "I've never heard of half the guns you own." I just smiled and said, "that's okay. Neither has my wife."

I picked up a Swedish M96, manufactured in 1899, for $120. What was a real surprise was that this was one of 2 years that the M96 was made made outside of Sweden.

I have you all beat a few years ago I was in a pawn shop and talk about not knowing what you have guy had listed a 300 Win Mag or so he thought Weatherby that nobody wanted with a sticker price of only $400 thinking it was a Vanguard Series it was actually the mark 5 which most people are asking 1500 to $2,000 for not bad almost $1,600 off a rifle just by not knowing what you have on your shelf. only downside is 300 Weatherby Magnum is still about $3 a bullet almost like shooting the Smith & Wesson 500 but man what a sweet rifle.

Best deal i have got was an all matching numbers, pre-war 1937 German Mauser. Got it for $200. still had original sling. Beautiful gun with a pristine stock and Barrel. Didnt really know what i had till someone told me. had it appraised by a gun expert and the amount he offered me blew me away.

My best Pawn shop find was a 6 month search, But I walked in and found a Tika 222/12 gauge over under For a $195. That included a 3X Leopold gold ring scope. It was filthy,covered in cheap camo tape and the scope lenses so fithy I couldn't see through it, The gun listed for over $1200 in the 70's, this was 1983 so I took a chance and took it home. After many hours of cleaning, I zeroed it in at 200 yards and have shot several 1 inch groups with it at 200 yards, and then tried some slugs at fifty yards with scope on and fired 1 inch high and dead on wind-age. Unbelievable ,I Know ,but true. My favorite gun buy ever and the last gun I would ever sell. Ohio hunting taken several deer with it and a lot of ground hogs.

Found a cool little shop by my work. Got an Italian Carcano for $150. Also found an Albion Webley for close to $200. Both in great shape and a blast to shoot. Love pawn and small shops. Great video guys.

What beautiful figure on that old Portuguese rifle! I build guitars, and that’s guitar-quality lumber for sure. My best pawn shop find in the gun world (I mostly buy tools from pawn shops) is my Kimber pro CDP, $350 with a bunch of Wilson Combat parts and 6 Wilson mags. Thought it was a good deal, and it’s the best non-.22 shooter I have.

I found a Winchester model 58, a single shot bolt action at my local pawn shop. I was just about to leave when i looked down at the end of the rack and saw this little 22 just sitting there by itself. I paid $150 + tax. I refinished the stock and had the barrel re-blued and now my grandson has a nice little plinker he can pass down to his son or daughter.

Best find was an original Smith & Wesson Schofield .45 model three which had $75 on it and marked half off. Turns out it was bought by Wells Fargo, and I have a Wells Fargo serial numbered holster as well.

Not mine, but my Dad's story. He's a locksmith. He was at a pawn shop (somewhere in North GA) that was closing down. He bought the shop's safe and brought it back to his shop. He didn't know the combo so had to drill it open. Low and behold, he opened it and found a Colt Python 357 and a Dan Wesson 22 LR pistol. The Python alone was worth more than what he got the safe for.

A lot of my local gun shops post their used gun lists online, one day I checked one and I saw that there was a Stevens 258a bolt action 20ga for $80, so I convinced my dad to take a trip over their and buy it. My friend and I put a box and a half of birdshot through it, just plinking and having fun. It's 2+1 so we put a 5 round sleeve on the stock. The stock needs refinished, and the receiver could used reblued, so I'm going to refinish everything as a little project. It's just a fun plinker 20ga, we're going to see how 2 3/4 slugs run in it and see if we want to use it for Deer Season because one of our nearby counties is Shotgun Only hunting.

I've picked up a stainless 10/22 for $100, Mossberg 88 and 500a for $250, Beretta92s for $200, but my favorite deal is my Weatherby vanguard series1 270 with 4×16×52, Harris bipod and quick adjust sling for $300. Dead on accurate out the door then I bedded the action, and foam filled the forward, took it back to the range, hit a half gallon milk jug @548yds second shot

My best pawn shop purchase was a model 38 Turkish Mauser 7.92x57mm. It had an early 70s Weaver 4 power scope mounted on a Weaver iron slighter mount. I gave $160 out the door, the asking price was $200. It was re-barreled in 1944.

Last year I picked up a Type 99 Arisaka and a 88 Commission rifle for $200 total, no tax. Both were all matching; the Arisaka just needed a scrubbing. Great day at the ol' gun shop!

here is Australia you can only sell your guns at a gun shop. I picked up a nice 2nd hand savage axis for $475 (I'm a shooter on a shoe string budget so this was affordable to me) before you all chime in saying you can pick one up new for $300 I'm well aware but here we have import tax and the good old australia tax thrown ontop of everything so guns here are fucking expenses for just bolt actions, handguns are worse.

My best find was a Hungarian FEG PA-63 in 9mm Kurz (.380 ACP). In the 1990s a local shop had a big shipment of PA-63s in 9x18, priced at $75. One, yes one, of the pistols in the case was marked 9mm Kurz. I knew that was .380 ACP. It was also priced at $75. I snatched it up immediately. I lived in Kentucky then and while it was almost impossible to get a carry permit you could legally keep a loaded gun in your glovebox. That is where the PA-63 lived for many years!

Andrew Roebuck start by looking for large cracks anywhere, check the rifling and chamber by shining a light down the bore, check if there's any frosting on the muzzle, look for rust externally and internally, run the action to make sure it still runs smooth. Essentially look at the internals and look for any major defaults to the integrity of the actual firearm

No. Please, don't. It all depends on the gun you want to buy. What you should be looking for depends entirely on what you're looking at. You wouldn't expect a Colt 1903 to have it's finish intact. That doesn't mean it's not worth a few (or possibly several) hundred dollars. But if you're looking at a gun that's only a decade or two old, the finish should be solid. The key is to know what you like and study it. If you like early 20th century pistols, learn everything you can about them. When you see one, you'll know if it's worth what they're asking. You'll probably know more about it than the guy behind the counter.

my first rifle i bought myself was one of those walmart special 10/22s. 22 in stainless tapered barrel, stainless receiver. super accurate! i still have it.
