I'm pretty sure 95% of the people would have buckled under all that and just laid down the road and cried - I know I would. I cannot comprehend being all wet, cold, and miserable for that long. You guys are absolutely champs. I would have just found the nicest house and ask to come in and warm up. Have that English speaking kid's phone number and whenever you're in need of translation, let him speak to the locals for you. Throughout it all the trials, though, you guys kept your chins up and persevered. Amazing. Admirable. Awesome.
@@nocancelcultureaccepted9316 ...and youtube is full of trolls like you who spend their years waiting for Vietnamese-related videos to drop so they can make the same repetitive comments over and over again. You have no imagination. At least come up with something unique, clever, of funny...but that would require a brain and talent, things you sorely lack for the past year.
Honestly you 2 make me laugh 😂. All your escapades but no matter what you come out laughing. Keep up the good work. I have just discovered your change so going back to catch up. 🇦🇺
Found your channel by accident and I am enjoying your work. Love your authentic presentation and reaction to the local people. Some excellent filming of the scenery, when the weather allows. I fully understand being cold 🥶 on a bike. Next time do wear gloves and good waterproof boots. Also pack your cloths in bin bags or dry bags inside your panniers....an old bikers tip. Looking forward to your last video. Ride safe and all the best Steve 👍
love your videos. I just finished my motorcycle trip from Ho Chi Minh City to Cao Bang in 21 days, from 22 Feb to 15 Mar. I had littley the same experience, from warm weather to very cold weather. I and my wife almost gave up the trip at Ha Tinh. It was raining all day long since we were at Da Nang. I pack extra 2 instand noodle cups for emergency, in case no restaurant open.
I think that girl stopping for a selfie lifted your spirits. You are making me feel glad we arrive in Da Nang on Monday and are riding south to HCMC. It must be cold when a couple from England are saying it’s the coldest they have been. Great episode
Too late for you guys but the Tigit motorcycle RU-vid's give great advice about traveling VN. I remember him saying the most common mistake made traveling the high country is not having enough gear for the very unpredictable weather. Glad you're not chickening out! Love your videos.
We don’t like buying unnecessary stuff so until we got caught in the weather was when we actually then needed everything, we thought the covers would’ve helped but they didn’t unfortunately!
I love it that you are willing to chance a some discomfort and chaos to get into the plain VN that isn't built-to-please tourists, great sharing thanks!
I watched 6 Eps in one time, I can't wait to see the next one. Your trips made me miss Vietnam when I was there. you guys do great job. Let me know if you need any information about next, see I can help.
I went to visit Vietnam back in September, it was lovely I mainly went to the tourist spots. But seeing this trip is really amazing, makes me want to do it again but in a bike.
Beautiful trip and admire your adventure , Not doing the typical tourist, The Honda is a good choice.. I've ridden some in a few countries in Asia and I can't figure out why you didn't Start out with really Good rain gear?? The subtitles really were helpful since I'm American it's kinda hard to understand your accent... I probably understand 50% I love that feeling when you're the only white person that ever comes to town , Especially with red hair you probably get a lot of attention Happy travels how I envy your trip. 🙏🙏
@@TheJammyGits I advise you to be careful and slow down, for your own safety and to enjoy the trip to the fullest. because I have traveled a lot and had an accident, although it was not heavy, it was not worth it.
Lining all your bags with big plastic trash bags would have helped. But maybe you guys have figured it out after this. Real adventures always have memorable moments, don't they?
For the Northern mountain, you should go to Cao Bang. Ha Giang & Sapa are famous yes but Cao Bang's beauty is more subtle and will calm your nerves in middle of all the hustle and bustle. The roads are good and not too crowded. I stayed there for like a week (Gia Bao homestay) and just make days trips around the area. Probably the best time riding in Vietnam.
you guys really need to buy waterproof stuff for Viet Nam, especially a 100% waterproof backpack. It's a tropical country after all. You need these plastic bags for the feet and the plastic rain coats that the locals are wearing. Put your clothes inside your backpack into plastic bags as well, or even better, get waterproof compression bags. wish you all the best
Dang, that was quite the bodily function emotional rollercoaster! Ya'll handled it well tho. So where did your Jammy Gits name come from? We begin our global travel adventure in 64 days. What are your plans for summer locations? Be safe...
It was indeed😂 Jammy Gits means “luck” in English slang and although we haven’t won th lottery or anything, we just feel super lucky for living this life and being able to travel full time, so that’s just where it came from😊 enjoy your trip!
I've had misery days like this... September 2022 riding through France, Belgium, and The Netherlands, arriving at a campsite soaking wet .... camping in a one man tent.. no chance to dry things out... I feel your pain.
Geez, that was such a rough part of your journey, weather-wise. Hopefully the worst was over. I'm vietnamese (saigonese born and raised) and you guys have been to and seen more of vietnam than I ever have, but I will try to before I kick the bucket. Looks like many bus and truck drivers there have no regards for safety and human lives and that pisses me off. Hey, you always seem to have a chicken leg/thigh in every meal you've shown haha... See you next time!
Yall didn't prepare for rain on motorcycle? FYI, VN clarify as juggle like amazon, wet n hot. Thanks for sharing ur amateurish adventure. Be careful. 😊 U can't find foods on VN? Yall full of surprises, i didnt known about VN.😊 Oh the huge snake live there. B careful when u do #1 or #2. The snake about 50 feet n ghosts 👻.
Don't be shy to ask some young generation like the girl at 13:96 where to eat or anything you need . At the countryside, few old people can speak English.
The lady at 10:45 said there's only omelette that is available for you guys to eat. Though because of the edit, I don't know what she said in the previous sentence
Thời tiết du lịch Viet Nam lý tưởng nhất la tháng 3, 4, 8, 9, 10 and 11.
lmaoo what the women said was if you want to eat, she could make rice with omlette for you, other wise there's nothing else to eat, idk how google translate said that
Sadly , the only trips that are really memorable are the ones with a good dollop of adversity. If you can join the mad dogs in the midday sun , the fact that it's raining jagged rocks and broken bottles is just kid stuff , yes? I'm enjoying your trip , misery and all!
I doubt since you were travelling during Tet Lunar New Year, hence all restaurants/shops closed. Isn't it? Travelling in VN, when you have problem with language, just join some forum/fb of travellers, food reviewers...somebody will help with the translation. You see that highschooler with good English.
Forgot to mention that Google translate about dinner was hysterical. Glad they finally figured out you were hungry and got you food. I guess the one thing I've learned from this is don't travel in cold and/or rainy season without securely wrapping your clothes in waterproof bags before packing them in your backpack. Or as Mitch said, get the side saddles, which look goofy and can get in the way, but it'll keep your gear dry. Hopefully things look up from here on out.
This is so fake. You literally walked past multiple restaurants and complained about everything. There was raining headsize rocks down from the mountains when I was there and still think it was awsome, even after hearing next day that the road we took is gone now because flood swept it away.
