Join us as we finish our trip to Europe by leaving Greece and heading back home to Canada in this travel vlog. As officially the longest travel vlog we've ever made we kick things off with a tour of our apartment hotel in Santorini where we stayed for 8 nights. We then head outside to feed some stray cats and dogs before saying goodbye to Santorini by boarding a Blue Star ferry bound for Athens.
The ferry ride this time around was extremely choppy due to fierce winds but the highlight was the sunset views and not the greasy meal we had again from Goody. Upon arriving late at night in Piraeus we checked into a cheap motel where we stayed overnight spending the entire day walking around Piraeus enjoying the harbor and beach views along with grabbing some tasty sushi for lunch.
The following morning at a ridiculous hour we took the public bus from Piraeus to Athens airport where we caught a short flight to Istanbul. With time to kill at Istanbul airport we grabbed some Turkish Delight as a gift before boarding our final flight home to Toronto with Turkish Airlines. Upon arriving in Canada we made sure to spend time with Togo the German Shepherd.
Overall our 10 week trip in Europe with my parents was fantastic. We shared so many great experiences together. It is kind of sad the trip to Europe is over but new adventures await. Thanks so much for following along and stay tuned because we had content from Antigua, Canada, Peru and Japan coming up on our channel soon.

Welcome home...that's one of the most handsome dogs I've ever seen. I'm probably older than your parents and I really admire that they are welcome on your travels. You all seemed to have a great time. Enjoy some down time and pet the dog for me...

Loved the video. We just left Santorini too. We absolutely loved it! We are from Canada (well I'm from Barbados and moved to Toronto where I met my wife) and we sold everything to travel the world with our two little kids. Love finding channels like yours, and finding fellow Canadian travellers :)

Love that Toga!!! Lol I love you to Audrey & Sam. I think that was very nice that you fed the cats and the dogs before you left. Can you tell I'm an animal lover. I just want to tell you something that happened the other morning. I went to sit on my 2nd floor deck with the morning paper and a cup of coffee. Of course my cat Jack wanted to come out to. So I leave him out and he's laying on the board rail of the deck. Well I'm reading the paper but I hear this fluttering going on and I looked up and 0mg. There was the biggest hawk there just fluttering in mid air like 2 inches away from my cat. My cat was so scared he just laid there frozen in time. Well this hawk had to be about 2ft tall and about 2ft wide with a gig head a beak that was to a point on the end and big sturdy legs with big sharp tallons. Omg. He almost grabbed my cat by the neck and took off with him but he got afraid when he seen me and flew onto the neighbors neck. Ya know I just can't get that vision out of my mind of me seeing my cat carried away daggling in the air by a hawks claws. It's really screwing with my mind. If I would of went inside to get more coffee my cat would of been gone and I would never have known what happened to him. Thank god I was sitting there. What do you think of that story!!!!!! Happy it didn't happen and he's never going on the deck again. Ok well take care. From Bethlehem Pa.

We've just returned from 9 weeks travelling around Europe. North south east and west. We did 14 weeks last year too. What an amazing place it is. So much history there in relation to our relatively young country. Australia is so far away from there it seems madness not to stay for a good while. Thank you for the entertaining adventure series. We first saw you guys when we were doing our planning for our last trip. Singapore was the first episode we saw of you,and we've been following ever since. I still go back to the vid of you trying Vegemite for the first time. Samuel going in hard on the bad boy sauce. Again, thanks for the great series.Gav.

We spent 4 days in Dresden Germany. That was such a great place. Southern Italy, calabria is so beautiful in the summer. But in all the whole of Europe does it for us. Yeah you'll have to come back and really get amongst it. There are so many great experiences here.

Thank you! The person who was robbed didn't want the story to be made public so what I can say is that it happened on the metro. A group of guys came on kind of pushing and shoving. We didn't think much of it until we exited the station and realized a wallet had be stolen directly from a bag. For those reading this don't be afraid to take the metro in Athens. It is a great way to get around but you have to be very mindful that pickpockets are working in coordinated groups to disorientate victims to steal their possessions.

Audrey's right - that early morning bed scene was just TMI......:-)......anyway - that was a truly awesome trip you shared with us, not much of a western world lover, but the Med area IS awesome - and Sam, you know what they say: Time flies when you're having fun - and in your case EATING.....and napping.....:-)...... How far in advance do you plan out your trips? My wife and I are heading to Ireland in 30 days (!) and I'm already working on mapping out our Italy tour for 2020. Could you do a video on how you plan for a trip? What websites you use, apps, and any tips you might have to get the best deal? Also, you two cost me money! After seeing your videos, I had to go by some additional equipment so I could film our upcoming trip(s). I don't plan on making the videos public, it'll just be something we can refer back to from time to time. =-)

Thank you! In terms of planning family trips we have everything worked out well in advance but if it is just Audrey and I we often kind of wing it. We use sites like tripadvisor, airbnb, booking dot com for logistics and read blogs post, watch youtube videos and use travel guides for planning.

My OCD wouldn't allow me to just wing it. I don't get to travel nearly as often as I would like, so I have to hit the "must see" attractions and get in as much as possible. in 2016, I spent time in Iceland, London, Paris, Zurich, Berlin, and Amsterdam over a 12 day period and hardly slept the entire time I was always wanting to see 'one more thing'. I don't plan on future trips being that packed as my now wife would most likely kill me. As of 2020, we're going to start traveling yearly instead of once every other year, so we plan on using your videos to help us plan various trips, or at least, use them for ideas.

How do you guys plan your trips? Do you Pre pay for everything ? Where you guys going next and for how long ?

When it is just the two of us we try to travel overland to save money and just go from one logical place to the next. For instance if we're traveling in the Balkans we'll go from Croatia to Bosnia since they share a border. We tend to pay for accommodations in advance but everything else including food and attractions are just purchased the day of.

Thank you! Next up for us is a Canadian barbecue, Antigua, Peru food series and then a big Japan series. We'd love to come back to Brazil but nothing planned this year. It was great to see Togo again :)

Those burgers look somewhat underwhelming it has to be said. The beers on the other hand look tantalizingly better. With respect you both look quite tired so going home is a good idea. When you have recovered the question is - where to next? I hear that Cuba is very up & coming? There could be some good gigs to be had doing promotional work I don't doubt? Happy travelling & travel safe as always.

Do you think I could type? No. I mentioned in the previous video I would be in Santorini, in fact I’ll be going to Barcelona, Monte-Carlo, Florence, Rome, Naples, Santorini, Mikonos, Athens, Cephalonia (Greece), Kotor, Dubrovnik and Venice. So this series seriously helped with hidden things to see in these cities.

How come a German Shepard is named after an African State? Glad to hear that you still have made it to the airport in Athens. In Europe time is changed from winter time to summer time on the last Sunday morning in March.

Thanks for the suggestion of the Turkish Delights. I'll be in Istanbul next week flying Turkish Air as well. I know you guys like to cut costs when flying but I just thought I would mention that Turkish Air Business Class from IST to JFK is the same price as Premium Economy of other airlines. Since i travel overseas only once a year I save up a little extra to fly Premium Economy so I'm not elbow-to-elbow for 10 hours. The seats fully recline in Business Class. Was there any place to get some delicious Turkish coffee at Ataturk Airport?

Thanks! That is awesome to hear. For those long flights it is well worth an upgrade if you have the budget. Ah, I forget the name of where we had coffee before but you'll notice many spots in the airport.

We met teaching English in South Korea back in 2012. We taught in different cities but knew each other from our travel blogs already so we met up and started dating shortly after.

Egypt was the journey of my life. That was so pretty and overwhelming 🤗 I cried because I had to fly back home. I would have loved to stay there longer.
