Thank you and have a nice day.* She (my great grandma) just turned 107 years old the other day fellas! My "not-so-great" grandma only just moved in with her, maybe two years ago tops. And not because great grandma asked her to! Actually the real reason was, it couldn't have been more than five years ago (likely less tbh) that great grandma stopped driving and sold her car... And not because we told her to, or the police told her to or anything. The ole broad DECIDED ON HER OWN, because a rock flew up and nailed her exhaust, causing the car to sound like the most ridiculous civic in your town... Well GG was driving around town and couldn't hear any difference until a few of the locals (everyone and their mother knows her) asked her if she needed any help with her car. Gramma's a fiesty 100+ though and she says to em, "what in the heck are you guys talking about, there's nothing wrong with my damn car!" Needless to say, they had her go put on the ole hearing aids. Which are naturally turned up to the level of "outdoor festival" inside of her ears, or a little on the quiet side, in other words. Well after that she was starting to think that since she couldn't hear those levels of noise, she might not hear if, say, a young kid were yelling or something along the lines. Good ole Great Gramma decided right then, that's just too dangerous for the kid. She'd better stop driving. Sold her car, and turned in her license of her own free will, that very month. If memory serves she was 104 years old at the time, I could be a bit off though. That's the story about why my 83 year old Grandma lives at home with her mom, because mom lost her license and needs rides to her weekly meetings (bingo at the center)... thanks for listening, now I feel trashy. Thought I'd tell a story about her for her birthday.
