We were pregnant together with our first babies!! My girl was born a month before Riella ❤️ I also thought I’d want to see with a mirror but in the moment I said no because I was 1. Nauseous and thought it would make me sick 2. I was also so in the moment like you said! Love watching you guys especially having babies so close in age! 🤍

My husband had to leave which we weren’t aware of and I was already SO NERVOUS about getting one I almost had a panic attack. Luckily my nurse Taylor (shoutout to her she is an angel) was my ROCK and helped me through that process. Talked me through what was happening, helped me through the contractions, told me to use her in whatever support way I needed. Without her I might’ve lost it. my husband and my mother came back immediately after and I was living my best epidural life (for a very short amount of time, went from a 6 to a 10 vet fast).

My husband had to leave every time I got an epidural. We have 4 babies, and number 5 on the way. I am hoping to try to go without the epidural this time, but who knows, depends on how I really feel in the moment!! I love hearing other people’s birth stories!! So glad you had a positive birth!! ❤️❤️

I delivered at st joes Ann Arbor in mich and my husband was able to be in the room the whole time. Even with the epidural! He just had to sit by my head. And my epidural was on a button. Every time I felt it wearing off I just pushed the button!

The nurses were cool with my husband staying in the room for the epidural. They were even giving him props for how he helped me deal with the epidural.

I’m so glad you guys did this video !!! I wanted to comment this for a video idea but I know you talked about it on the podcast already 🤍 so yay!! I remember being so intrigued watching the video and so excited I was so emotional and was like wow I can’t wait for that!! Now I’m 20 weeks pregnant !! I’m going to watch the video again right after this!!! and I promise you I’m going to bawl my eyes out🤣🥺 everytime I watch labor and delivery videos since I’ve been pregnant I just cryyy. I can’t wait for my baby in December 💙🥺so excited for my baby boy ! You guys did so amazing !!!

I gave birth 2 days before my due date .. Exactly a day before my birthday too that year.. I am so blessed. My son is 6 now You guys are amazing.. I love how big RI is🥰

I was informed that doctors ask people to leave the room when getting an epidural is typically for safety and not to transfer or to Contaminate the area since it’s considered a sterile process.

Our girls are 2 days apart and our birth stories are very similar to one another. Yes, Josh both my baby’s dad and mom had to leave the room before giving me the epidural and that’s when all the nerves kicked in for me and I had a breakdown lol. Anyways, I love watching your videos and following your journey. It’s like our babies are growing up together but virtually lol ❤️ I love you guys, your videos make my day ! God bless.

I remember when you told us you were pregnant i was so happy but jealous you were having a baby as I was trying for 7yrs and 1 miscarriage in 2018 and gave up. I'm now watching this 24september and so happy as I am now 15wks pregnant with my miracle rainbow baby

Beautiful story, love a positive birth story!! Beautiful baby💕 I am a Labor and Delivery nurse and we always have the family and husbands leave too, mostly because when I first started working there, a dad passed out during the epidural, and we don’t want the dads to hurt themselves and not be able to enjoy their babies birth!

As a nursing student on the mother baby unit rn it is protocol for visitors to leave for an epidural since its sterile procedure, I wish the partners didn't have to leave either :/ also so cool you let a nursing student attempt your IV!!!!

My husband didn't have to leave when getting the epidural (thankfully!). They just asked him to move around the bed by my head. When I first got to the hospital though they took me up by myself due to COVID protocols. I didn't realize my husband was left behind until we got to the elevator and I was slightly panicking 😂

Yeah, the epidural is always no daddies. My doctor said it’s because people faint unexpectedly. Ugh my epidural was the same way, I experienced that too where you feel a lot of the actual pushing. But when I had my second one naturally, I realized the pain is DEFINITELY different. Lol 😮‍💨

My husband had to leave for the epidural (4 years ago). The dude left and got breakfast. I was like damn bro. Lol. Hospitals go back and forth with that policy because of dads/husbands passing out. Now the same hospital would let my husband sit down. It also depends on the person doing the epidural.

My husband didn't have to leave the room and honestly he wasn't leaving my side so it would have been an issue if they did ask him to leave 🤭 He even told me that the nurse lady kinda had an attitude doing my epidural I had no idea I was in pain

The reason they asked Josh to leave is so he wouldn't faint, I'm not saying he would, but the needle is really long and many men faint or fall to the ground when they see it. Some hospitals make the men either sit down or leave the room to prevent this.

Some people faint when they see the procedure tray for the epidural, so that’s probably why you had to leave! They didn’t want to scrape you off the floor lol

Yes! My husband had to leave the room for me to get the epidural. They consider it a “ sterile procedure “ apparently 🤷🏼‍♀️

I had my first with an epidural My second I almost had on the highway she came so quick no time for anything 3rd I had using just gas as pain relief Giving birth is definetly amazing💪 what a woman's body goes through is incredible

It's been many years since we had our last baby but the nurse that was putting my wife's IV in said the same thing about the vein in my wife's arm when she struggled to get the IV in.

My husband was the same way about having to leave for the epidural. I had to get two... the 1st one only numbed my right side and it took them 2 hours to physically do it so my husband wasn't happy about that, he literally fell asleep on the floor waiting. the 2nd one took 10 mins to do. im currently 12 weeks with my second and im dreading labor this time

My significant other also had to leave while I got the epidural. Not sure if it’s because a lot of dads pass out but he was asked to leave and was able to come in as soon as it was done

Yep noone was allowed in when I had my 1st, I got the epidural but that was it. Rest was natural.. 💙💜💪 it's been 14yrs I still have bad back trouble from it

The membrane sweep is HORRIBLE!! I was supposed to be induced on a Sunday but she did my sweep on a Thursday and by Saturday I was having a baby! It works but I literally wanted to punch the lady 😂😂

they didn't take you to labor delivery it's here in Alabama when you're 16 weeks or over you just go straight up to labor delivery and go straight no matter what's going on looking for being that damn anything

When I got the epidural I had to do it alone they kicked my bf out and it was something I was super scared to do I had a panic attack like I started freaking out and they still made him leave..
