Danny Ric should never have left RedBull. He would never have won a title next to Max but at least he would have 10-15-20 additional wins and who knows how many more podiums..
He realized he was going to turn into Max's Bottas and for better or worse decided he wouldn't be having any of that. His Renault stint was fine, it was the McLaren move that killed his career.
If he still had the ambition to win the title (and he could have done, at the right place at the right time), then what is the point in staying? The kind of guy who ends up happily acting as another driver's permanent wingman, has accepted that they are, at best, mid-table, and that compliance is the only way they'll get near race-winning machinery. Staying at Red Bull would have been, for Ricciardo, the ultimate failure.
The problem with a Perez or Riccardo is that they come with a huge fan base. From a business sense that makes them very difficult to fire. They could afford to be more ruthless if they only hire drivers whose popularity Red Bull created.
Ricardo so many other racing bodies to drive, WEC, IMSA, NASCAR, LMP, Hyper cars heard faster than F1 cars? I hope to see Ricardo somewhere else. what is there in the 1 car type 6 F1 driver? Rally racing with Kimi ?
I agree with most of the sentiment here. Daniel should not of left red bull. He would never of been the number one. But would of gotten many podiums. Look at Sergio, he's had a very good stink
"Would have made no sense to drop Ricciardo" is ridiculous. The sense in dropping Ricciardo is as plain as day: He's not a top driver and Red Bull needs to find out if anyone in their stable is a top tier driver.
The pace overhaul of Mclaren vs Red Bull, How much would you contribute it to the balance of aerotesting and computing and how much to Mclaren being brilliant / RB dropping the ball? Would you increase the balance of performance for upcoming seasons and if you could add 1 new balance of performance to F1 which one would it be? Personally I would add a sliding "on track" time for FP1. Team on the lowest position has more FP1 track time VS the highest ranked team, imo it could help the lower ranked teams with the understanding of the tires and give them more real testing time.
It's a combination of lots of factors, aeroelasticity is the obvious one but many people overlook the progress that Mercedes did with their PU and another one is the partnership with Google who developed an outstanding simulator.
I would say that most of the mid table teams will progress up. McLaren & Ferrari come back to promimence. Aston, Audi or Hi-tech for me could make some moves up the ladder. I don't see Red Bull or Mercedes being that competitive but I could be wrong. I think VCARB & Williams will also stay the course. VCARB probably sells its naming rights to another team (F2 or FE) and I think Williams does as well. Williams will keep the name but probably do something like Haas.
There is no way Verstappen is going to go have Stroll as a Teammate. No chance. Can you imagine Jost and Daddy Stroll fighting for who gets more attention? Can stroll help Verstappen as a teammate? Nope. It’s NEVER going to happen
To be fair to Marko, I think he was right to want to drop Ric in Spain. They should have actually done that, Ric was never going to get better and they needed to know whether Lawson is the real deal.
As a Lando i'll be honest there isn't really a title fight . Lando and the McLaren have made far too many mistakes . Zandvoort is probably Lando's most complete performance since Miami and even there he got a bad start.
Max won’t take an off the cuff decisions on his future team. It’s a collective decision between him, Jos and Marko. Marko will stick with Max, in the same way Max has stuck by him.
It’s been a lot of years with checo with the same issues every season. Not saying he should retire he’s still good but RB Sr should love replaced him awhile ago
Ricciardo is a one dimensional driver, he can only do well in a car with a very stable rear end, and right now, every team has moved onto the new style of a very active rear end and relying on the driver's talent to catch it during rotation. Ricciardo is old school and simply cannot adapt his driving to fit the new style car. Perez is of the same boat but at least Perez got Verstappen watching over him to protect his seat. Unless Ricciaro adapt and be good with the new style of driving quickly, he got no chance of a comeback.
i don’t think he was getting edged into the #2 spot at all. he was offered an equal salary to max, and while team order drama was inevitable i feel like both guys had the same backing of the team at the time and speed would have dictated everything
He was going to be #2 for sure. Horner litteraly sayed they were going to build the team around Verstappen when they signed him. Ric understood and saw the writing on the wall.
Piastri is more of a future champion to me than Norris. Piastri is cold and calculated. Norris showed in Hungary he hasn't got what it takes. He should've claimed 17 points with the team which he will come up short against max
Norris should be battle hardened for next season. It’s the only edge Piastri has over him. Will be an easy fix and should be insanely one sided next season
For me Verstappen is nailed on to go to Aston for 2026 especially with Newey and Honda joining . Whether it will be alongside or in place of Alonso i'm less sure.
It's a simple fix really. Get rid of Helmut and Jos and you'll find that some unity returns to RB. Both these individuals have already shown their cards. They both have tried and failed miserably to usurp Horner and we all know that they are both doing whatever they can to try and cause as many issues as possible for Horner now as they both want his position but to think either one can manage RB like Horner has is completely delusional. Personally I'm tired of both men. Both are failed racing drivers that think they are better than they actually are.
I think people underestimate how much Lando learns. Qualy was a famous weak point for him last year but is now arguably a strength, and based on the past few races, his starts have been improving too
you people dont get it do you, all the money stroll put into f1 is for his son to be a winner 😂😂, the only way lance goes is if stroll leaves f1 with his investment.
@@scrubvision5652If that's Lawrence's only motivation at being in f1, maybe he should consider talking about his team as a nepo operation rather than a serious championship threat.
Why do you keep putting 'Our Verdict' on your titles as if you are somehow the direct authority on F1 related matters and your opinion is the most important? Absolute cringe given the quality of your work is dogmeat at best.
As a longtime Dutch F1 fan who really liked Verstappen making the whole of the Netherlands proud, I feel very bad on the Red Bull situation. Sad to see it breakdown and all.
The absolute toxicity at RedBull is caustic. I don’t know how people want to drive for an outfit where leadership is at each others throat undercutting one another internally and publicly.
The Grosjean crash broke him.. it's like it's impossible for everyone to just say it. He got scared and was never the same.. no amount of chassis changes, car changes, team changes mattered because the accident haunts him.. clear as day. Trying to rationalize his decline without mentioning it is irresponsible.
As soon as newey announced his departure the team went straight down hill they have lost the constructors already will they lose the drivers???????😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
I'm a Mclaren fan and I can see that in a year Piastri will be better then Norris, just look how much he has improved his racecraft year on year, last year he was very bad at tyre management, while this year he's on par with Norris,if he will have the same rate of progress year to year,I could see him WC.
