The caravan looks lovely, new curtains are great. Glad you had a good time and spent time with the grandchildren. I think you deserve a big gold star for towing the van. Xxxx
Talk about Hollywood Camping. Everything is beautiful and so organized. A lot of work went into getting this ready for you and the children Helen. Enjoy .
Well done Helen for your first tow, it’s amazing. You deserved that bottle of wine. Pleased you & Rob & Dolly had a lovely time & the weather was perfect. Next time will be easier & more relaxing. Happy caravanning! x
Well done Helen. We've had caravans for 20 odd years. Sometimes we went only an hour away from home but you could be anywhere...caravanning makes you relax and spend good times with friends and family. Keep on moving. Look forward to the next one. More happy times ahead.❤❤❤
Well done Helen for towing Bertha I wouldn't have the guts! So glad you had a great time with all your grandchildren together making lovely memories. Luvnhugs
Hi Helen. Your caravan looks so cosy, clean and tidy and I’m sure it won’t be quite so tiring after this maiden trip! Well done to you on your towing skills as I’m sure it’s not easy reversing, parking up etc. I’m so pleased you’re finally getting some sunshine and the grandchildren are having fun at the beach. The more trips you go on ,the more relaxing it will be but it as you say, it is very much reliant on the weather and how it behaves! Dolly seemed happy and it’s always great when you can bring your pets with you on holiday. I hope you get to enjoy many more breaks away with Bertha in the future.💖🌸
You’ve done more than I ever did with the towing Helen and we had a caravan for many years. Just didn’t have the nerve, so well done you!! Enjoy yourselves x❤
Really enjoyed that! A little tip for when it's really hot in the day is to pull down the blinds where the sun is directly on the window. We find this helps in our motorhome. X
Hi Helen, what a start for you with Road works outside your home….something you hadn’t planned. However congratulations for towing the caravan and all the manoeuvres involved….you really are incredible and delighted that you enjoyed your first trip away and weren’t you lucky with the sunshine and able to enjoy the beach with your family. Raining and cold here in Cumbria and forecast for July not looking great😢. Looking forward to seeing your Sea Salt haul. xx🏴
Thanks Helen for sharing🥰 you look so relaxed. It is so nice to have a change of scenery when retired. Being away from the normal household chores & having lots of lovely places to visit. It’s nice to unwind & relax with a good book. I like you am a shopaholic and find it hard to go a few days without visiting a shop and yes any shop. My hubby puts up with it sitting outside with the dogs waiting my return and sometimes I get him something too but he never looks as excited as me🤣🤣 We were so lucky with the weather we had a week by the sea last week and every day was HOT.. looking forward to your next blog. Dee 🌸
Camping (glamping) is so relaxing! Well done, Miss Helen! I keep a master list so we don’t forget anything. Print it out for each trip, cross off items as you pack up, and drive away with no worries that you forgot the toothpicks, etc. lol!😂
Congratulations on your first trip in Bertha ❤ You really thought of everything Helen! It looks great in the caravan👌 ❤ I'm so pleased for you and Rob that you had a great holiday and spent some time with your grandchildren too 😍 xx
Our caravan is like a home from home. We have a barbecue that uses gas from the tap outside. Darren uses it to cook a lot including breakfast if we treat ourselves. We both love proper coffee so we treated ourselves to a machine so we can have a latte or cappuccino. Little things like that make all the difference. We just fully relax. We even have all the Sky Netflix channels on the telly. We often download movies etc before we go away so we can keep ourselves entertained if we fancy a night in with a bottle of wine. We also buy Booths or M & S food to take the hard work out of meal preparation. Great way to holiday if you have a dog. We are going to Scotland in September. Had a lovely holiday in Cornwall earlier. Strongly recommend. Wendy
If you keep your curtains closed during the day it might be cooler? It’s lovely everything turned out easy and you enjoyed camping, you’ll be encouraged to go again.👍🏼🙋🏼♀️
Hi Helen, "Well done towing the caravan" she's looking beautiful !! I love all the Helen touches.Pleased you had a lovely time & spending with the grandchildren, dolly looked so at home too! Thank you for sharing, love to all take care 💜 XX
Another ‘well done’ from me Helen, not just for towing but also for transforming Bertha into a home from home. Loved seeing everything in its place and looking good. Billy and Hattie will always remember these days away with you and Rob, and how lovely that their cousins can join them now they are closer to you. Dear Dolly - couldn’t quite make out what she was thinking on this occasion, bewilderment ? 😂 x
Hi Helen. Wow! You did very well 👏👏. Caravan looks lovely. Great memories of you first trip with your family. Many more to come. Look forward to journeying with you and Rob xx
So glad you had a good trip. I'm sure setup will be easier the more you do it. You put so much thought into how to contain everything. And what a great bonus to be able to have your grandkids there and to visit with your other son. Looks you are living your best life. So happy to see you being the driver, none of the women in my family ever did that.
Aw Helen what a clever girl you are!!! Well done to you and Rob…I wouldn’t fancy towing/reversing etc. with a caravan attached. It all looked lovely - Bertha is just gorgeous. I’m so glad you had a lovely time away on your maiden trip and what fun having the grandchildren for a stay. Dolly certainly looks very at home there too. Lots of fun caravan adventures ahead for sure. Take care for now. Mary (Scottish Hel’s Belle living in France) 🤗
Hi Helen , caravan looks very nice , I’ve having caravan , & mobile home holidays & weekends for the last 50 years , & still love it . I did used to hate putting up the awnings, so now it’s much easier in a motor home . You will get to find it much easier next time . But I also think you are very brave to tow the van . So well done you 👍👏😘
Glad you enjoyed your first trip! Well done with the towing😊....the setting up will get easier/ quicker once you have done it a few times. Great to have had all your grandchildren together xx
I bet you are proud of yourself for driving/towing/parking Bertha. Rob and Dolly looked so relaxed and you certainly picked the right time to go with the lovely weather we have had, beats it being 1st July and sitting with a blanket as we are really chilly. British Summers !!!!!!!
So happy for you both to enjoy being with your grandchildren. Our granddaughter is 19 and we have loved being with her as she has grown up. We have beef blessed with a grandson who is 3 and he is going to be living near us, we are so happy as travelling to see him was not ideal. We are one happy family who will be able to share fun weekends. I love your videos and enjoy watching you do so many fun things. Thank you for showing us lovely clothes shoes and jewellery, you always look lovely.
So lovely to see you all relaxed Rob & Dolly too 🩷🩵🩷🦮. Caravan is just great & a pleasure to see. You did incredibly well getting out onto the road overcoming the road works Helen. Super spot park up with all the added touches to make it a lovely holiday. The children will have loved it. Seaside looked so beautiful & the family. Meet up just the ticket. 🎉🎉🎉😊💐
Helen you have my total admiration towing the caravan !! Well done you 👏 I have never been brave enough. It does get much easier as the season goes on and you only have to travel a few miles to feel a world away from home. You also meet some lovely people on different sites. Really pleased you enjoyed your first trip away. Btw those small fans from John Lewis are a godsend in the hotter weather aren't they!
Wonderful to spend quality time with the grandchildren! We used to take ours to a static caravan every year when they were little, and sitting in a caravan in the rain is not my idea of fun either 😂😂😂❤ x
Aww, I didn’t think Rob looked too impressed Helen. Caravanning can be hard work especially preparing for the trip and getting everything sorted once you arrive. Me & my husband had one when we got our dog, we absolutely loved it but we were only in our thirties then, don’t think we could cope with one now. Since taking early retirement it’s luxury hotel stays for us these days. Hopefully you’ll travel further afield for your next trip. We went all over with ours (never abroad) Kent, Scotland and everywhere in between..it was great! xx
He was fine, just enjoying a bit of down time before the final push! haha. We've booked our next trip and will be doing more. However, I still love a luxury hotel! haha xx
Oh Helen, you make me want to go out and get a caravan...... It looks so lovely, you and Rob both looked so relaxed, not to mention Dolly lol .... BTW I have had my husband watch the updates on Robs A.F. as he was also told he had it ...... We got a phone call the very next day to say he was booked for a Cardioversion 2 days later..... It was so fast our heads were spinning but seeing what Rob said about feeling 100% after the procedure helped to put his mind at ease, so thank you Rob.... The Cardioversion worked on the first go and he is doing great.. Take care xoxoxo
I’m a younger subscriber (I’m 37) but an avid caravanner myself! We have a four berth with twin beds too and depending on whether my 11 year old twins are with us or with their dad (I met their stepdad when they were 3) we’ll either sleep on the front bed or the single beds. I prefer the latter as the front bed is very uncomfortable! We’ve had some issues with our van but I love it and it’s much nicer than the one we had previously which didn’t have any fixed beds at all. Your caravan looks very similar to ours
Phew….that must be a relief to get the first tow over……WELL DONE….HONESTLY x …..just watched the last part of your video and you were saying that you had a bad night’s sleep I know that you take magnesium and I’ve just read in the Prima magazine that if you take it at night, it helps you sleep. [Prima is on Readly app too]. I don’t know if it was the latest edition or the last one..but one of them.
Thank you. I started taking the Magnesium for sleep, but it doesn't seem to have made much difference, but it does seem to have 'cured' my IBS.... so I'm happy about that xx
Fabulous, well done Helen and what a fabulous sunny day you had when you got there. Caravan looks amazing with all the work you have done to it with the bunting etc, here’s to many more trips ❤x
