This accident happend in BUSAN port.
The ship nearly hit a smaller vessel that was moored in the port, but luckily that was avoided. However, it did hit a container crane.
That resulted in the collapse of the crane.
A black out was probably the cause of this incident.

Same as Evergiven. Ground effect was ignored by the captain. What should be done is to reduce speed at the time when the ship is too close to the shore.

I would like to see a cylinder pressure chart when that engine is Rolling Coal. I am sure engine would take it if it is properly maintained, but that must be some real high pressure.

It's very expensive. Korea's announcement results are at least $100 million. That ship is Japanese. The Japanese captain will pay all the money to the port of Busan.

Apparently there was one bloke in the crane who thankfully jumped out, but broke his ankle

Note also what that does for local air quality - in a ship that is only 2 years old

Yeah, should give them a nuclear reactor, and do the same for the forge that has to melt the steel for a new crane.

As an ex merchant navy officer things do go bump, that was the fault of the dock workers ,,,, not the ship, cranes should be moved an secured.

¿how can this happen?, if it's a blackout of engineering and it's an electronically controlled diesel wouldn't it simply stop?(which would also cut power to the main blower). ¿Is there no emergency stop of the main engine?, or a emergency fuel shutoff or simply turning off the main FP. That thing was running at full power not even the tug could divert it!!. Also i'm pretty sure at the angle it hit it must've damaged the port prop or utterly destroyed it against the pier
