Watching this makes me miss our Silvertown motor yacht so much, we have boated for years but those waters look pretty rough. Cruiser yachts are one of my fav boats. I remember hitting waves and going down to find all the cupboards open and dishes all over the place. Do it again in a second if my health would let me.

I was born in Belhaven lived in the area until I was 13 or so and eventually ended up on the Outer Banks in high school. The waters you are crossing right now are those that I know better than any others. It's been decades since I lived there but it still has the feeling of home whenever I am in the area.

First rule of Looping is do not stress a schedule be flexible. Pushing yourself to catch up to a schedule is a recipe for disappointment. Enjoy the adventure

Our new to us is in Maryland and we will bring her up to the Hudson River in NY around May 15th. So I'm dreading going out on the Atlantic but it's been done before so! I've been planning this for a couple of months already! We got a 2002 Mainship 390.

Okay, I'm scratching my head. You purchase a boat in Maryland, heading a thousand miles south to Florida? Meeting up with your group only to turn around and head of thousand Miles back to Maryland and then beyond? Remember it's the people making the journey. Wouldn't it have been more economical to travel from Florida to Maryland onboard one of your groups vessels and then pick up your vessel in Maryland without all the additional engine hours and fuel burn? It's just a thought, no right or wrong answer.
