after a certain price point, ill just go with the pirate option. obviously the company doesn't care, since they aren't willing to put out more copies and have NO issue with after market charging at least a 50% mark-up for it. So companies out there reading this, if you want me to buy your product and not turn to the "black market", you have to produce the product for me to buy it, and if you don't, ill go to the person that is....especially if they are offering it at a great price. rocket science I know.
I blind bought Ready or Not new, at Walmart because I wanted to see the movie in theaters and because of Samara Weaving, after seeing her in Mayhrm and Ash vs Evil Dead. Holy shit. I clicked on this video because of seeing it in the thumbnail. Holy shit these prices are crazy. I still have Honey I Shrunk The Kids on DVD... it isn't a movie I watch often anymore as an adult so I wasn't looking for it on bluray but wow... I never saw Buffy and the rest I hadn't heard of
I have the exact same copy of Buffy that you do and I bought it last year out of the Walmart movie bin for like $5! Glad I still have it in pristine condition
I am pretty new to your channel and have been wondering if you would do a video about dvd/blu rays that have starred pro wrestlers. There is quite a few out there and curious if any of them are oop or if there is any value in them. I’ve tried to look but have nowhere near the knowledge as some.
I didn't know "Heavyweights" was out of print. I bought it when it first came out. Then I bought a second copy a year or two ago for a regular price as a backup in case of disc rot or damage in some way. I wish I had a second copy of "28 Days Later." That's probably my most valuable blu-ray since I only have one copy.
My dude, I bought the Buffy the Vampire Slayer Blu-ray with the other darker "action" cover(I preferred it over the pink cover) on December 29th, 2022, and I paid $12.00 for it. I checked my iCollect Everything app to make sure of everything. I just checked now, and it's going for up to over $175 new. It's hard to believe this happens so quickly now. I remember buying the 80s Guilty Pleasures 8-movie collection DVD for $8 a few years ago, and I wanted to buy it as a surprise for a 20 year old friend who is obsessed with the 80s. It was $84. That was also about two years apart. Physical media is becoming like gold. Great videos, BTW. I've been watching from my personal account for a while now. Keep 'em coming!
Man, I bought a clean looking copy of that 1992 US release of Buffy for $10 just a few months ago. I also got the Porky's double set for about $10 last year.
same & same! bought Buffy used for $8-$10 I think, I remember looking for the pink cover, I didn't like the other. Porkys double set I bought new from a Kino sale for $10
Found Buffy on blu not too long ago at Half Price Books for decent price. Im kicking myself for not picking up Ready or Not on blu ray at Best Buy, before they stopped selling physical media. I saw one copy left and didnt think of grabbing it.
Thanks man! I really appreciate the support. Yea I try to spread these out & I always love finding new OOP movies I have in my collection that are shockingly higher now month or years later
@@thelastmoviestanding I just think collecting physical media is important, in general. They may not be around in 10 to 20 years. Best to collect as many as possible. Not to mention, who knows when/if ever any OOP titles will be printed again.
I didn’t realize Ready or Not was OOP until I watched it on streaming, liked it & went to find a copy to buy. Luckily the UK version is region free & can be found cheap so picked that one up.
Might have to post my Buffy Blu. Didn't love it personally. Wasn't aware on Ready or Not either. I bought it the last year or so will have to watch it and decide what I want to do with it.
The Buffy with the pink cover, they recovered a song playing from the Cult (lost the license) and replaced it with a generic pop song. Other than that, the transfer is the same. I definitely prefer the pink cover but it's not accurate to the original movie. Stick with the darker cover if you can find it.
I think every movie is gonna be hard to get in the future because there are a lot of people that like collecting movies and for some reason, the powers that be keep on trying to remove physical media. I’m in New York City and I’ve been collecting movies for years. The problem is Best Buy doesn’t sell and now target isn’t selling them. The only place I could buy movies from Barnes & Noble’s and secondhand.
I have lol I’m personally not into double pack cause they mess with my OCD & alphabetical order 😂 I got the Last Boy Scout double pack with Last Man Standing cause it was the only US Blu-ray available 🤷🏼♂️& then I got the UK import cause I’m a mad man hahahaha
It’s always good to check non-US Amazon sites for titles that are hard to find. I wanted to get Blue Ruin, and people were asking up to $100 for it. I got it from Amazon UK for $14 including shipping. I’ve also been stocking up on my favorite Fox titles that are still available.
I bought "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" on BD in the final days of FYE for only $10. (I got it to watch with my daughter because she was a huge fan of Luke Perry in "Riverdale".) Crazy to see it so high right now! Disney has me so angry with them for their Members Only BDs. I"m glad that I managed to get "Mighty Joe Young" for only $18 a few years ago. The Blu-ray is now going for $75+! Just found out that the rights for "Dogma" have been released from the clutches of the Weinsteins and Kevin Smith is already making deals for it to get a physical disc and to start streaming. Hopefully we'll get it in 4K!
@@thelastmoviestanding well that too, but I know people that do pick up a 400 pound CRT to be able to watch them on, life is too short to be doing all that
I grabbed a brand new Black Hole blu ray when they were about thirty bucks secondhand. It goes for stupid money now. I also snagged a pawn shop copy of Near Dark about a month ago for three bucks. Love that movie (it should be commonly available), and it just fills my heart with joy to rip it out of the hands of a flipper (the same trip I got a blu ray of 48 HRS, which I never seem to see out wandering around). So that was a good day.
@@thelastmoviestanding It's a very unconventional Disney sci fi movie from 1979. It has a 1960s sort of feel to it. It was actually in theaters at the same time as Star Trek the Motion Picture. The Disney Movie Club had a blu ray and that was the only official HD release. Was really happy to score one.
Not interested in any of the movies he listed, but still makes for interesting content. The way titles are being released in 4k, would not be surprised if some of these come out in 4k. Or released as BR's by the boutique labels.
Buffy was a day one purchase! Had it for years. 100 for ready or not gtfo lol so glad I got those Disney movie clubs long ago too. Kino put out Cadillac man I missed out and it’s 100 bucks now 😢 Can’t have enough good prostitute movies 😂
Airheads is insane. I personally don't recommend paying more than 30 bucks or so for any blu-ray. Anything could get reprinted. Old anime is about the only thing that's not going to reprinted or get a 4K.
