Great return on investment was our first reason. But after visiting. OMG we just love the vibe and the history of Montgomery. You cant get that in Cali!

Do you still recommend buying out of state? I live in NY and the renter laws here are very strict. Tenants can go 12 months without paying rent and it's very difficult to get them removed. This is and other reasons are why I am considering other states.
