One thing - do get the character looks to as good a level as you can. One thing the player's going to be looking at all the time is... the back of the character. Beef her up, so to speak. She needs way more detail. Just my 2 cents.

The model is well done, the problem is the low fps

missing simple features that i recommend to add (more camera reaction like shake when you do damage or walk etc.. , a better view in 3p like over the shoulder)

Really good work guys, I would just say what I noticed, the character really looks from another world it's all coming together but the character just isn't their yet. Idk how the combat feels yet but as a tip from your little friend programmer, I spent alot of my time making fun combat systems in godot, like really too much time, and as a result and a tip, make the player feel impactful, knockbacks, hit animations, more overall control, if it's too much player controlled, add more than too much, a fun combat is a combat that the player feels not easy to win, but fun to be in. If you follow other games then will end up with same games, make the character jump around slashing, add particles for hits, make the hit detiction based on sword collisions rather than ray casts, much more dynamic and little harder to implement but will give the player more control over the fight and result less bugs. Sorry for my big comment I just see potential in your project and I was working on something similar solo, sadly you know how much it takes so I stopped, but that's my tips. Keep up the good work, subbed!

Looks great! I love the automatic door opening. I am really a fan of *super ergonomic* games, you should try add as many ease of use features as you can!

I really kind of dig the aesthetic of this game. It has the vibe of turn-of-millennium Hollywood / TV representation of video games . i.e. the smooth faces, phong shading, low noise surface textures. Even the low "juice" animations and camera movement. Reminds me of prerendered point and click puzzle games like Myst , or the backed backdrops from the original Resident Evil games. I say ignore some of these comments encouraging moving to more standard art style and LEAN into what you've got so far. Because it's actually kind of unique.

Thank you. We are working hard on it every day. This is now old footage and new stuff is better. We're in the middle of a Godot 4 conversion, so when we can release more footage it should look even better. Join our discord and Twitter to follow. See Tokisan dot com. Thks

Yes. See my latest video about terrain. We've been upgrading to Godot 4, and had to build a terrain system for it among many other things.

Everything you saw in the video is running in Godot. We're using Zylann's heightmap terrain and have some mountain models behind.

did you implement ik feet?
@TokisanGames
@TokisanGames 3 года назад
The characters have baked animations, which used IK during creation. However we aren't using root motion, nor placing feet directly on the variable terrain.

whats causing this style? It looks like dark age of camelot ish game... from 20y ago which is not bad just an observation.. is this the style you going for or is this caused by the texture or the terrain addon maybe too realistic textures?

Godot 3 renderer. No GI. Unfinished game development without any polish. No color grading or post effects.

@@TokisanGames hey thanks for quick response, i watched your vid on terrain3d looks for me at least a little intimidating to get into.. i think for my first commercial game ill go with qodot and trenchbroom as a start for mapping seems way easier to get started .. although it looks nice
