@@erikmajestic8044 I agree. It’s not these guys fault their ancestors were mistakenly released into the wild. It’s rather odd that the only animal intentionally introduced to an area for some reason like hunting or just look lovely in the gardens was the ringneck pheasant. I’m certain millions maybe billions had/have been released into the wild by Rod and Gun Clubs and state agencies but I’m not sure there’s anywhere in America where they thrive and reproduce in the wild.

@@sahilsquadron2286Yep, when the bans came in hardware stores were selling "gun coffins", a long piece of pvc tube capped off at both ends, and around a third of the estimated banned firearms were never handed in. Plus multiple people being charged since who were in charge of firearms collection during the amnesty period taking "the good stuff" to sell on the black market. There are a lot more guns in Aus than people would assume given our laws.

@tolt1776 it's a bit different here on the eastern side of Aus. At least a farmer or pro shooter can own semi autos. We have less hoops to jump through to own any firearm but still have some dumb restrictions. Most gun owners in aus have 3 to 5 minimum.

Its important to not classify this as hunting. He has said this before in his videos, this is culling, and is necessary. Many people think that this is hunting and it gives hunters a bad name. They see this and think "thats what hunters do to whitetail"

@PeaceManBro pump has nothing to do with it. He put enough rounds down to get it hot. It might not get as hot as a 11.5 barrel though.

@@Andrew-us2fkYou got that right. 5 rounds in a minute with a 308 and you have a barrel that's just about too hot to touch. With the hot ambient temp out there, and being in that direct sunlight.........30 or 40 or more rounds in ten minutes......you would be looking at 2nd degree burns wrapping you hand around that barrel. That's why he was wearing heavy leather gloves. In case of inadvertently touching that barrel.

Dude, nicely done. I grew up hunting small and medium game with my stepdad in the us. It can be hard with kids. But it teaches things that are fundamental to being human. If we wan to protect and privide, then we have to defend it. And usually it means from pests. You just have some bloody big pests. We just had rabbits eating our garden, feral cats pissing on our hand gatherded hay and everything eating our chickens. My 22 and 20ga got a work out.but nothing like qhat yoy have to do. Keep it ot up and keep posting. Ill tell you that today I can shoot a bolt gun faster than a pump. Good luck with it all.

I have a question if you dont mind - What is the name/style of magazine you are using where the rounds simply 'push down' to load into the mag rather than force in from the front? Watching from the UK. Camel meat here is between £12 - £25 per Kilo depending on the cut. Its a bit darker than beef but very good to eat. What do you do with the carcases?

If anyone is wondering why the red dot is aiming at a different spot than where the round is hitting it has to do with parallax. The scope cam doesn't pick up the red dot as perfect as you do when youre behind the glass. Depends on distance too. If hes really close he has to aim high because of height over bore. Your shot range is like a triangle then goes flat then a triangle again

yeah I only learned recently that close shots you've gotta aim high, I shoot a few roe deer and red deer every year always with friends and such close shots have never had to be done but it was still like 'wait what?' to shoot close I have to aim high??

I’m curious how far the shots are your taking at the camels. Are they over 200 yds or greater? Seems like the rifle stays on target even when the barrel gets hot from repeated firings.

Love that you are sharing this experience with your girl! Teaching conservation and gun safety is important for anybody to learn. My son had 4 girls. He taught them all to hunt with him. If he said he was going to the woods, they were filing out the door behind him! Even as young as 3. They've all hunted elk, deer and javalina. I'll bet it really burned you seeing all those camels right there in your cattle pens where all the water is!! Do you have to go back and burn the carcasses around the pens? As someone else said, you need an ammo sponsorship! Keep up the good, hard work!

What a sweet kid and such a great helper! Lucky you to have that quality time before the teen years and you’re not nearly as cool. As for the camels, I had no idea they were so prevalent over there. You’ve got a hell of a job on your hands. Great video quality.

I'm enjoying your videos. As a fox shooter I'm enjoying seeing something different in a different part of Australia. As a fox shooter...I really appreciate a very good rest..stable rifle support and never shoot offhand. Keep up the effort of recording and uploading...I'm sure it's a hassle...

It surprises me that you have comments turned on, the amount of people who ask questions that you have answered numerous times is shocking. I can't help but agree with some suggestions but am to respectful to criticize someone doing what needs to be done to ensure theres a viable future for their family and station employees. Man, I’m not sure that was pistol caliber unless we are talking 22lr as a pistol caliber. It was really freakin quiet so I don’t think it was even a .38

Just curious what happens to the culled camels? Left to rot or made into food? I know they are a pest over there but wasting meat is still wasting meat. Thanks for sharing!

Logistics & economics of distance & time to get enough meat cleaned & chilled cleanly would be the issue. Need to be paid enough per kg to make a real profit, & be well organised & hygienic.

I am gob smacked. Just how many camels you have on your land (daily)? It seems never-ending. I bet its costing you a small fortune in ammunition, but cheaper than letting them get out of control, I bet?
