While Die Maschine and Firebase Z were much simpler experiences that almost any zombies player could pick up and enjoy, Outbreak was something entirely new. A massive, open-world, objective-oriented approach to zombies that could be more easily updated throughout the year to create a massive, ever-evolving sandbox to play around with. Treyarch hoped to create a new take on the classic zombies formula that could help bring in those that might not have given the zombies mode a try before, while at the same time, being something that longtime fans could love. Does it succeed in achieving those rather lofty ambitions? Let's discuss!
