@@sylvoen The problem is that the new type of maps now does not have built-in materials, and the addon capable of porting materials works in Blender 4.0+, I'm a 3.6 user. sorry, but thanks
@@ognovgamesChannel I've downloaded the whole pack back in August of 2023. Haven't used it though, so I don't know if materials are built-in. If you still need it and if it is an old enough version for you, I can upload it somewhere.
You can go on vacation to the Caribbean for 6 years and no one will complain, you have done more than enough with the ports, thank you very much for everything.
Every single one of them? Time to experiment with lighting angles unrestricted by SFM :D And, well, have an incredible toolkit at your disposal while making scenes on TF2 maps... because Blender and all. Can't wait to see this o:
@@hisanimationsAfter seeing everything, I gotta say, you've done an amazing job. :3 Thank you for giving people the tools to create and let their ambitions flourish. Folks like you make creative communities exponentially better and cement why open source and sharing info elevates every creator.
@@hisanimations did you do the intro animation? and if so do you do commissions i need help with a project and i need an animator to help me out on something
If you know even a little bit about how Blender works, this is kinda insane. Knowing a pretty decent amount of Blender, this is ABSOLUTELY insane. Object follow path, self-contained model AND material library (that is efficient on its own, but also mimics Source optimization), plus everything that goes into making all of that work? I straight up don't know how you managed to accomplish all of that and then remain sane enough to make a video about it all. Still reeling at how you made the mercs play at 60 in a program that has some of my own *static* scenes play at 12. Actual wizardry
Mano literally did a miracle for Blender users, I'm glad this is coming true, it must have been one of the biggest jobs so far my friend, you are amazing :)
Just saw this and the tf2 trifecta - Holy hell, I came into the animation space at the right time. I'm just starting to learn now but I feel like the tools are actually there for me to do so with things I am passionate about, and in large part thanks to you. If I end up using this and actually making larger animations than the viewmodel stuff i'm doing now, that kofi is getting supported the hell out of.
Your video style and music choice reminded me of Ymfah. On another note, this is giving me ideas... we've gotten past the need for SFM, the future is now.
your optimizations are insane, you'll probably be a scilent sung hero for this but genuinely that's the most amazing and notable thing of this whole video. especally since the game is something like 22, (which is mostly maps) genuinely good work
YOU MAD MAN!! YOU'VE DONE IT AGAIN!! Thank you for you service to the community❤. I wish I had money to give but hopefully in the future I'll have some to donate
Well, let’s hope my computer doesn’t crap out trying to do any of this, I’ve been thinking about trying Blender for a long time. It’s great to see you again.
Besides being amazing, this looks so incredibly accessible. Thanks a lot for both your undoubtedly painstaking work and the great presentation of it. I'm truly stoked to take a look ❤
I have never tried taking a crack at animation, but I can tell that this is massive for anyone who wants to make TF2-related content. On top of that, you also reduced the file size by over 160GB?! Legendary..
@@hisanimations lol I agree xD oh, you didn't upload a video about (super specific and odd video idea)? *_I hope your pillow reminds you of the burning flames of the underworld._* (Also yw!! keep up the great work!! :D)
Note! if you want to make it so animations are not faster when switching to a higher framerate you can look through the time stretching option. If you animated stuff at 30fps and want to make it 60 without the speedup you can head to time stretching and set the values the following : Old : 100 New : 200 Edit: forgot to mention this but if you put audio in the project IT WILL GO OUT OF SYNC. So you'd need to re-adjust the audio files accordingly.
Thanks alot i was going to give up on making tf2 blender animations cause i could not figure out how to get the maps in but now i did so thank you so much... now i just gotta figure out how to get the actual mercs...
If anyone wants to render in Cycles, I noticed most decals don't work. You have to fiddle a little bit with the alpha channel. Just add a color ramp to it and clamp the black level, and you should be good for most of them.
I havent watched the video just yet but right off the bat I can say holy shit dude this is amazing! I remember trying to port a map into blender (I do 3d modeling for a living by the way, but even so;) and it was a VERY very pain to do so, so im glad you got this ported over and for everyone!
thank you for this work. i did start blender like a year ago but stopped using it because didn't find any interest in creating models at all, also the fact that i wanted to do tf2 related stuff. but now i did try this and everything works, now i'll just have to get used to blender and i guess sfm hell will stop for me. thank u :)
Thank you so much for everything you've done with tf2 to blender! It's such a blessing to see all the cool stuff ported to blender, opens up many doors that with sfm would've been a hell to open in case if you could. Thanks to your ports, making TF2 renders is easier (and prettier) than ever!
Very smart to put the materials and props into two blend files and then just taking the materials and props from them in the maps. That must have taken so much work. Great stuff, I ported dustbowl into blender and that took a while. This must have taken you at least a month of work.
@@hisanimations I know my fair share of Blender, but I can't imagine working through all the source compatibility stuff and the kinda jank tools. Atleast now way less people have to endure that thanks to you.
shaders are a very broad and difficult topic, as they have infinite possibilities. i recommend you watching a tutorial that shows what each node does, and how to piece it together
@@hisanimations i did but maybe i messed up because i wanted to make Scout with celshade but his face was one color, no eyebrows, no hair, i'll try with something more simple
