Ask anyone who used the old beaver dams and they will agree, the old ones were better, before ACME. Thats also why older models still demand a higher price.

Beaver dams are awesome, amazing, and solid. They work. It is great to have them still made in Wisconsin. I grew up with beaver dams and love them. I am refurbishing some old ones this week. They have been in a leaky barn for 10-15 years and were in rough shape. Corroded metal, peeling paint, stuck spindles.... I took them apart, polished the spindles, repainted them, and will be greasing and assembling them tomorrow. They will look brand new. I don't know any other tip up that you could do this with. I am going to go fishing with them next week. Tight lines.
