Thank you, just got this jacket and returned my hood less nano puff. Not only was it cheaper with the membership, just got a free spoon from outdoor vitals. I wish I’ve known about this jacket, I’ve would have saved so much money on jackets.
I had a horrible experience with outdoor vitals. Their gear is great but if you need to return something they are the worst. They will inspect your return and if it’s not in new unused condition they will deduct 20% from your refund. Now this seems fair but my return has a pulled thread in the hood that there is no way I could have caused and they wouldn’t give me the benefit of the doubt and took 20% of the top. I tried reasoning with them to no avail. They give cottage industry proprietors a bad name. Beware. Not a hater just telling the truth.
@@davidjisham bummer to hear. I haven’t had to return anything but sounds a bit stressful if one has to go that route. Others are pretty gracious and seamless
@@BackcountryRenegade I actually could be a brand advocate. I own their top quilt and bottom quilt and the ventus hoodie. Love them all. I should be recognized as a loyal customer. I ordered another ventus hoodie to compare sizes. It was way too big so I returned it. They inspected the return and found a pulled thread in the hood. All I did was try it on, discovered it was too big and put it back in the shipping envelope to send it back. There is no way I damaged that item. Normally tie goes to the runner. They would not budge. I couldn’t understand it. Always give the customer the benefit of the doubt. Love the product but cannot trust their business practices. Too much of a risk with higher cost products. They are not the only game in town any longer.
A beautiful and helpful review as usual! Lots of love and respect from a solo mountain hiker friend from the Hindu Kush Mountains Lower Chitral District of Pakistan!
I'd forgotten about the feature of packing the jacket into the left pocket. I bought mine in Smoke color back in February 2023 & especially like the hood adjustability, the zero stitch outer fabric & the thumb holes at the end of sleeves. I normally wear my Marmot Minimalist Gore-Tex jacket over the NovaPro as a windbreaker/rain jacket. Warm Regards from Reno, Nevada
@@Hoytbuff Oxidized Silver is what the color looks like to me rather than smoke or grey. My "small" jacket weighed 13.6oz, it should have weighed 15oz. I returned it as a Warranty claim (manufacturing defect). It is now in the hands of OV. I'm waiting for their decision. If you buy one weigh it to see if it weights what it's supposed to weigh. I claimed my didn't have enough down stuffed into it when manufactured. It's probably a good idea to weigh any Down Filled jacket at the time you open the package in an effort to determine if it's been filled with as much DOWN as advertised.
I wore this jacket last Thanksgiving in Montana. Decided to see how it would do and went for a walk in a heavy wet snowstorm. I was really impressed after not feeling any cold water seep into my layers underneath. The jacket was wet, but still had loft. And it dried very quickly.
