Wayland Baum was my great grandfather. I hadn't seen the inside of that house in years and I was so surprised to see this video! He passed away on 2007 at the age of 103.
Your great grandfather was a good man. My brother, sister and I showed up as complete strangers and he spent most of the day with us showing us our family roots. He lived in the home my father was born in and had in his backyard the store my grandfather owned and ran in the 1920s.
Sadly, the store is gone now. He had told us stories about how they moved the entire building across the road and into it's eventual resting place. I have a lot of great memories of exploring it and looking at all of the decoys and fishing related stuff in there. His two surviving children, my grandmother and her oldest brother Billy Baum still live just north of there on Baumtown road. The house now belongs to another family who have re-finished portions of it.
@@25xxfrostxx My understanding is your great granddad saved the store from being demolished in the 1940s, recognizing its historical value. He moved to his backyard. Really too bad it did not survive after his passing.
