I'm a metal head, been to hundreds of rock shows. It doesn't matter who is playing that night, if this song comes on over the PA half the crowd there will start dancing and moving. This is a great hype song for any event!

People will never understand how good Outkast is and how much worse off Pop music is without Outkast in the game. They put out every genre of music, jazz, blues, rnb, rap, hip hop, rock, soul, country, literally every motherfucking thing, and they did it to the highest level of quality. And they did it while being pop artists. Compare this music with stuff that is considered "pop" today and it doesnt measure up to even an inch of creativity, the skill and the genius of Outkast. It almost enough to make you weep for the state of music....

So I heard this song in sixth grade, saw the music video, got into an argument with a classmate over what the lyrics were and only just now realized some more than two decades later that all the poodle skirt 50's era stuff is a fantasy; this didn't exist during that era because of segregation. It's a fantastic reimagining of things through a contemporary lens. Like, that's obvious right but why did it take that so long to sink in? Andre 3000 is an incredible creative force of nature, I was singing along and even my cat stopped to listen to my phone. She's never done that before. Andre is a wizard; he wields magic. I'm convinced of it.

The lyrics/message in the song is just a work of pure genius. Outkast were really something else.
