It's that time again. The new set is almost here so today I'm looking at my picks for the Top 10 cards from Outlaws of Thunder Junction in Pioneer and Explorer! A difficult set to judge in terms of power-level so let me know if you disagree or think there's any cards I've missed.

Izzet Ensoul is my pet deck so I'll be trying Legion Extruder for sure. There are other things I'd rather be doing on turn 2 though. If only it were 1 mana with a higher cost for the ability.

I find Stoic Sphinx very interesting. I could well imagine this in the Simic Flash. 5/3 flying is already a house

Pillage the Bog is the closest thing we have to that Alchemy card, Assemble the Team. Digging that deep is big. Imma try it in BG control/midrange. The plot is weird but has use value still. Suppose you need a wipe but don't have it. Plot turn 3. Dig 8 cards turn 4 for 0 mana, find the answer, and turn the corner.

What do you think about Assimilation Aegis ? Could be an interesting tool as a 1 or 2 of for UW control

I'm interested to see what it can do, but I wonder if three mana in two colours for that kind of exile effect is just too expensive now.
