However, the multispectral structural integrity analyzer showed faint, slow processes that could be attributed to the extreme conditions the M-13 station had endured or to minor errors in the complex equipment, especially since the entire ship and crew of this deep space exploration mission had been missing for several hundred years. The fact that the crew, despite seeing a familiar colonist module of which there were thousands on various worlds, still had no specific information about this world, only added to their hesitation. This giant armored module did not feel like home, unlike many other similar structures in more hospitable and partially colonized locations. And the building, in turn, continued its solemn and mocking silence, knowing that sooner or later the first reconnaissance team would have to use plasma tools to get inside-it was only a matter of time. And time, after all, was something this colossus had more of than the humans. No big deal.
The captain, standing on the bridge and examining the grand structure, which resembled the ancient submarines that humans once used on old Earth, couldn't understand why this time the M-13 module felt like a living entity. Couldn't understand... or didn't want to... He brushed aside these grim thoughts and ordered the engineers to prepare the plasma "lockpicks" and the mechanics to check the systems of the rovers.
