Be really mindfull buying this, in fl studio i get cpu spikes from 5 to 18 from this vst on lowest cpu settings, meaning on a empty song you can maybe use 5 and fl will already crash (note: I'm using a 1700 euro gaming laptop only one year old) .... This cpu usage makes it almost unusable, will always have to freeze tracks ..
I am having the same issue, really frustrating... My best solution is to just put the effect I want on a track, export it and use that exported track from there on... No more movement on the mixer, much better CPU performance. However, this obviously removes the possibility for automating the movement
Not brand new anymore but still a cool plugin. Anyone who has Shaperbox and/or infiltrator will probably not find any added value here. Should slowly be reflected in the price after so many years. As always, the original price is nonsense, but also 50% too expensive for the black-friday-spring-what-ever-deal. For 10 to 15 bucks would be reasonable for a plugin that is over six years old and can no longer keep up with the newer plugins mentioned.
I understand where you're coming from. Shaperbox and Infiltrator have mastered adding modulation to all kinds of parameters. I do think I've seen Movement at really low prices on Pluginboutique.
Awesome video. I really appreciate the "best practices" section, because it's a common problem with such plugins. Most of the times you would want to tweak some parameters to make it usable and fit better in the song.
Oh good! The best practices was something new I was trying out. I feel like there's a lot of little tips to keep in mind, so calling them best practices made the most sense. Hope this video could be extra helpful to you because of it!
Thanks! Glad the video could be helpful . That's a good question you're asking. To automate the wet/dry slider, I used an Automation Lane, which I believe is used in nearly all DAWs. It's a way to set how you want a parameter to change during the project timeline. If you're wondering how to do that in your DAW, I would try googling your DAW with the term automation lane. Hopefully that helps!
Yes you can shorten the length of the delay! You can make it as subtle or extreme as you want with the Feedback, Time, Wet/Dry knob. A lot of presets in here are a bit over the top, in my opinion, but it's easy to dial things back.
Yes. It was very helpful. What instruments and sounds do you think is appropriate to use with movement? And have you used movement along with thermal and portal?
@@portal7tv908 I love using movement with Portal. I had an example that I edited out of the video because it felt a little too long and off-topic. But yeah try mixing movement with portal. Thermal works well too, but I came across more "wow" moments with portal. When it comes to sounds, I like to use things that are more sustained, simpler sounds. Mostly because Movement wants to make things complex. So putting a complex sound into Movement makes things too complex, almost complicated. So I like to use simple, dry sounds.
