If I was only 20 years younger, what a great life you all are having. I spent 20 years in the US Navy and have been to many places around the world but never to small islands like you visit, what fun..
Nice video and one hell of a boat! Archer’s set up 110% for sailing and cruising. It’s amazing how well you can combine the two and still be so comfortable. Fair winds and following seas! … Really says a lot about what Outremer has to offer
Yes Elizabeth, agreed "once I get going I'll be really good" :) Great tour and description of Archer, great to see you having fun doing it. Thanks for sharing :)
Awesome video! It doesn't matter how many a tours of this boat have already been seen, it's always worth the time to watch another tour. You guys actually did do a tour with Brent and Multihull Central a few months ago. Outremer is a pretty amazing boat builder, and just as amazing is the fact that Seth & Elizabeth were able to buy this boat second hand with exactly the configuration they would have ordered from the factory. Too cool!
Thank you. You did more for Outremerr in this video than millions of paid advertising! I was blown away. Now, I will consider them in my list of possibles whilst doing my research. Excellent job for you and the little woman! God Bless you all and keep you safe and healthy. Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year.
Bob, "the little woman"? Come on, you wanted this to be a well deserved compliment but it doesn't come across as that. You can do better than that. Right?
Next time! We have 2 D2-40 Volvo diesels. Pretty basic engine room. One upgrade is the ability to switch which fuel tank to source the fuel from, and also another switch to send the excess fuel to. It allows us to keep our tank weight even if they get out of whack, or if one tank gets tainted for some reason. Otherwise your basic engine room.
WOW!! Always wanted to see a tour of boat. So cozy, warm, and homey! Beautiful boat for a beautiful family🙂. Can’t wait to see more of your travels! Such awesome videos!
Amazing! This is exactly what I was hoping for. You guys are awesome 👏 thank you for replying and doing a video about it. This gives me big inspiration for my future vessel. Much love from Lake Tahoe and wish you all the best.
A dream catamaran ... If I could, I'd be off on one of those in a heartbeat ... your video's were great company during the lockdowns and stressful times ... thank you. Think of coming by the Kenyan coast one day, I'll guide you, I use to live in Lamu, a stunning island off the Kenyan coast.
Love the channel and loved the tour, what an awesome boat. It’s really nice that you guys take the time to reply to a lot of our comments, not many do. Makes us feel like part of the family and we truly appreciate it
Great tour Seth, I bet that that dodger makes all the difference offshore. That extra 6' gives you so much more space vs the 45 down below. Oh, and I am going to start calling our head the Loo With the View, love it, Elizabeth! Only we'll need to keep the door open to look through the escape hatch on our boat 😅
Thanks for a great video. Lynne and me cannot wait until we get our Outremer 51 hull#95 delivered in July. Going through options now and this gave us some good ideas and will likely change some after this.
Love the home boat. We have been following you for some time. Your traveling vids will be missed. Are you up for a last crossing? How about Fiji, The Marquesas, Hawaii, then the Pacific northwest?
I love a loo with a view. I think my wife would be quite traumatized having to downsize her closet like that. 😂 You guys are a very blessed family. Love the videos.
I am not a creeper, but Elizabeth is a cutie and seems like a wonderful mother. You did well Seth and I wish you and your family the best and a wonderful Christmas!
I love this - It’s so lovely to see/hear more from Elizabeth. . Please can we have another sailing/exploring video soon because I work a desk job and it’s been a couple of weeks and I’m getting antsy 🤣🤣
Elizabeth is so cute. Seth is so handsome. And y’all’s boat is absolutely beautiful. It is a perfect fit for your family. And yes sundowners are the best. Very nice video. Good job.
I didn't know you had club foot staysail. this makes sailing off a leah shore shore into the wind easier. Some people say a performance cat gets knocked around too much in bad weather, but I say put some bags of salt water around in specific places, and you can make it weigh as much as a condo.
I love my house most in the 10 mins just before guests turn up to stay! It’s all tidy and looks at its best. I imagine that the same goes for you just before shooting a boat tour vlog!! Boys - keep your hull tidy!!!
The Sailing Family yes I heard you call the starboard hull that!! Thanks Seth and Elizabeth for sharing your adventures. Your family are part of my life now!
Good tour of your home. Thank you Question- I noticed a tiny window behind your kids bathroom sink, what the purpose of it? It’s too small as an escape hatch, but my fear it would be a source of a leak? Always love your channel guys. It’s by far the best sailing channel- with the most actual sailing!!! Take care!
Hi rick. It’s a small lewmar hatch for ventilation. It is a little low but it’s the only air flow for that bathroom. It’s the trade off for designing the heads inboard versus outboard.
Hello all of you on the Archer that was a nice tour you have your boat organized very nice I like that setup lots of extra space that's what I like places to store a lot of food drinks. And you sure have a lot of sails that's a good thing to have. Anyways yeah I'll be safe out there God bless you have a good Christmas wherever you're at hope your Thanksgiving was good bless you all be good watching from Roseville California USA Ray Garrett
Thanks for the tour! I like your interior colors/finishes. Are those customizable with Outremer, or did it come standard that way? While this looks like a very good boat, I agree the HH boats seem better. They certainly have a lot more storage. I'm also a big fan of Balance Catamarans.
What an amazing boat. I'm truly inspired. It's actually bigger than it seems, I think Sailing La Vagabond also has an Ultremer but theirs somehow feels smaller I think it might be the internal dining space vs outside?
Wonderful boat I have guess you know that for a boat ordered today Outre-mer yard is giving a delivery date in 2025… One question about your SSB. Could you please give more information about your aerial? Where it is? Thanks a lot and fair winds
Like your vids, nice to see a family exploring the world. A few questions if I might... Notice you dont have a washing machine onboard, how much does that affect you, especially with three boys on board? All handwashing and the occasional washing when at a marina? How much would you trust that boat doing high latitude sailing? Thinking arctic and antarctic passages. If you would trust the boat for that, what changes would you make if any? Again, great detailed video and walkthrough. Been really enjoying your vids. Hope you find your way to Iceland someday...We dont get a lot of performance catamarans up here.... ;)
I think they built around 30 of the 49 model, which then turned into the 51. I think they built another 50 or so of the newer model, which is what we have. Not 100% sure, but it's been a very popular model for a small boat builder that does not mass produce. ~Seth
Nice tour! We really enjoy all your videos. One question on the sail plan. If you were doing it again would you consider a parasail in place of the symmetrical spinnaker? Do you know any performance cats that use a parasail? Thanks!
Hey Seth! Keith from Zatara was saying it's difficult to finance a boat if you want to go off-shore sailing. Did you have to buy yours outright or did you find an option to finance? Love the channel!
We like bench seats, but the previous owner swapped it out for a single helm with side supports. This is the better option for off-shore sailing, but not as cozy for two people (obviously)! That said, we've come to like it!
Well done E! You gave a straight forward overview of the boat hitting all the key points. Over-explaining and mansplaining starts at 11:08…blah blah blah 😆
I was relieved to see your message about being out of the cyclone path. But I took a double take watching SailGP in Sydney and saw Archer in the background were my eyes deceiving me?
again i know nothing about boats beyond the meaning of P.O.S.H. (wealthy people thought booking a cruise from england to the continent had a better view if they booked it for Port Over Starboard Home. strictly an unnecessary added expense. really enjoyed the tour! 🦩
Certainly taking care in terms of being organized and staying ahead of maintenance goes along way. I don't believe I saw a dishwasher or laundry machines. Would these be a good fit for this boat?
