Craig I don’t have a recommendation. The technology changes so quickly. I would just do some research. At the time of the video I had stock motor. Have since given the lathe to a friend. Now have a Powermatic 2020.
Are those red handled turning tools hanging on the wall made by Trumbull? I’ve got an identical set that must be 40-50 years old. Haven’t seen another set like em till I watched this video. Nice video by the way!! I agree with some of the replies about Sheetrock screws.
Not sure who made the tools you mentioned. They were my wife's fathers tools. He was an excellent wood worker and turner. He purchased them from Sears Robuck probably back in the 40's. They still have excellent tool steel.
Thanks to all of you who have viewed this video. I now have a website at ETSY where I sell items I have invented and created, it is www.jbwoodturn.com. I also have a long running website where I have free auto/truck testing information as well as books that I have written on automotive testing, this website is: www.vestest.com. If you visit both of these website you will get an insight into my split personality. Thanks again for viewing.
