When it comes to crafting tension over a dominant 7th chord, this scale really shines, as you can see from the video example. Pair it with an E7 chord, and the standout intervals are the A# and C, serving up spicy #4/b5 and #5 intervals respectively.
This scale works great if it’s appropriately juxtaposed with “inside notes” and scales. It can sound like impending doom or a looney tunes character falling down a flight of stairs… either way, it has a distinct sound I think all guitarists should try implementing into their outside playing
