Had to come back and watch this again. Going for Ouzel/Ogallala peaks tomorrow. Did Isolation a few days ago and feel like I need to get back while the best way to avoid the willows is still fresh in my mind. Thanks for all the beta you provide🤞

Great hike Nick! I don’t like navigating through those willows either. I’ve learned how to fall “gracefully” too...😂😂

@alquinn8576
@alquinn8576 3 года назад
@@nicksangetta8874 I would call it class 2 with sections of class 2+. True class 3 terrain is definitely entirely avoidable without too much hassle from the East. Of course the approach from the West starting at Ogallala is above my pay-grade (class 4). The hardest part on Elk Tooth is the long approach.

Nice job once again. I went to blue bird lake once and saw the river flowing out of it. That's as far as I got. Your videos are fantastic. You should be proud of yourself. I always go in July. I wonder if September would have less rain?

What a perfect day you had! I’ve never seen it still at Bluebird Lake - I’m jealous! That was one freaky route you took. When I climbed Ouzel I went up the Junco side & down closer to the head of Pipit Lake. It’s definitely not an easy mountain to climb. That would have freaked me out to run into the moose. I’ve been charged by a moose before & it’s super scary! There must be something about that stretch of the trail - I’ve run into black bear cubs in the same area. Fortunately I never saw the mama & they finally scampered away! Love all your videos - looks like you love RMNP as much as I do!

What an awesome Grand Finale Hike for you. We are always amazed how you take these hikes on by yourself!!! Because of your Moose "chases" we have now much more respect for moose! (You got some nice "scary music" to accompany your moose encounter!) Definitely a beautiful but difficult hike. I would like to hike as far as Lark Pond one day.. Ouzel Peak is probably not on my "peaks to hike" list as it does look a bit challenging. Bluebird lake has been on my bucket list for a long time. Thank you for always sharing. Your hiking videos are our favorite things to watch on RU-vid. I thought the color combinations of the red/mustard color bushes, the dark lakes, the blue sky, the green ever-greens and the grey rocks were stunning. Thank you for all the work you put in to show us RMNP & beyond! Are you working on your list of hikes for 2021 yet? Take care, Your #1 Tennessee Fans T & S

Thank you so much for watching and supporting the channel! I love that this video came out so good as far as color. I feel like I got robbed a little on the murky Snowdrift Peak hike. Lol. You gotta bag Bluebird one of these days and beyond if you can. This instsntly became one of my favorite areas in the park. And yes, my list for this year is just as big as it was last year! Got some big plans. Just need my replacement camera to show up. It fell off the hood suction cup and i drove over it a few weeks ago. Do'h!!!

Looking through your videos, and the only RMNP 13ers that you lack are: Isolation, Ogallala, and McHenry's Do you know about camping in Hell Canyon & taking the ridge from Cooper over to Ogallala? By splitting it into two days it becomes manageable.
@nicksangetta8874
@nicksangetta8874 2 года назад
I need those 3 and also Rowe. But those are all pretty difficult! Especially McHenrys. My book said you need expert route finding to keep it to class 3.. Ive never done backcountry camping before so I dont know about Hell Canyon or anything. I just spent all my money on a rooftop tent, so I will start with that. Lol. Video coming soon about it!
