Alex Ovechkin set the NHL record for most 30-goal seasons with 18 when he scored for the Washington Capitals against the Detroit Red Wings at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit on Tuesday.
he had 8 goals in the first 43 games. the most brutal slump of his career. and still manages another 30 goal season with more to come. he's a lock for 40 plus goals next season.
If you're complaining about Ovi doing PEDs then complain about literally everyone in the league buddy. If you think your average athlete can play 82 NHL games in 7 months and then the playoffs without taking any kind of PED or supplements for faster recovery timing than you gotta be painfully ignorant
@@ryuhoshi2774 This can apply to any professional sport. Look at basketball players. Does anyone believe that guys who are over 7 feet tall and weigh over 110 kg can run for 40 minutes and jump like beasts?
38-year old Ovechkin scoring 30 goals a season virtually without any elite linemate for the lowest in years scoring Caps is much harder than 26-year old Matthiews scoring 66 goals for the current Leafs
Caps need to step up and this summer work really hard to get some good play makers and help Ovi reach that record, if Caps will reach playoffs next year then everything is possible
Ovi has 22 goals in his last 32 games after 8 in his first 43 games. If this happened in the reverse - one could argue he is in the decline. Instead it is proof he grieved his father's death for a year scoring only 21 goals in an 84 game span. In the 41 games last year before his father's death Ovi had 29 goals and now has 22 goals in 32 games for a total of 51 goals in 73 games (pre and post mourning ) for 57 goal pace. Expect a record breaking 10th 50 goal season next year not only passing 99 but going over 900 career goals
@@NeilPhillipMelly You don’t seriously think that mourning begins or ends at will, or with the wave of a magic wand? I think Ovechkin’s failure at the beginning of the season is connected both with his state of health and with the fact that the usual composition of the five was destroyed, and the new one has not yet been decided. A sniper, even if he is at least three times talented, cannot play alone. If partners do not work together with him, then nothing good will come of it. For example, I noticed that at the beginning of the season Alex was lost on the court; his teammates often ignored him and took over the game. Now everything has changed. T. J. Oshie was able to partially replace Kuznetsov, others also began to look for Ovi on the court. The result has appeared.
OVI IS THE BEST EVER. LETS GO CAPS, WE WILL WIN THE STANLEY CUP AGAIN. ANYONE WHO SAYS ANYWHO I BLOCK OUT OF MY LIFE! SAY IT WITH ME, 📯📯📯 LET'S GO CAPS! 📯📯📯 LET'S GO CAPS! 📯📯📯 LET'S GO CAPS!
A horrendous season has turned into quite a good one. Playoffs in site with four games remaining. May or may not make it. They are in the hunt and ovie had a beautiful game winning goal vs Detroit just last game. He is playing on a very short team with little offensive talent and at 38: being able to turn the season around this way proves Ovechkin is here to stay a few more years and we need not miss the days of Ovechkin for at least two years. If he is playing well in 2026 I hope he does the Zagreb and goes one year at a time deals til he understands it’s time. Then he will never look washed, he will only look full.
