“Does that make sense” is a phrase that creates uncertainty and doubt instead of being reassuring. It can imply that the other party is obliged to understand what was said. Do you buy those line pine needles to mulch your beds or do you have a long needle tree you just recycle from? i have a douglas fur dropping these long needles in my yard and i hate em, i tried to compost them but thats not going so well, maybe ill try using them for mulch.

Yeah Pete good luck, I am waiting a bit myself......although getting nervous about how late in the season it is getting with no end to the 90's in sight. Seeded a small section over Labor Day weekend just to see and it burned up to dust already even with water/irrigation 5x daily lol. I think it is time for NCSU to revise their recommendation of reseeding early Sep..... just ain't happening in Eastern NC anymore.

Those are some bright shirts! 😎 I like the blue one. Try this: Instead of spreading the seed with your hands along borders and in tight areas, which is hard to do evenly, make yourself a little tool. Get a plastic container with a wide-mouthed opening, kind of like the ones they sell nuts in. That’s what I use. Empty it and drill a bunch of holes in the lid, evenly spaced, about 3/8" in size. Fill the plastic container with seed, put the lid with holes on, and use it to spread your seed. Works like a charm! Try it! Get your seed spreading right! 😉😂

Milorganite says to water deep prior to over seeding so it's moist 6 inches deep (which I failed to do) then water 8am, noon and 4pm 10 minutes each time everyday. I had a large bare dirt area that had a maple tree that died 2018 we had It cut down and this year we had the stump ground out down about 18" there was river rock in the area and large granite boulders as edging I gave all that to my neighbor anyway the bare dirt is about an inch tall on the 21st day and thickening the rest of the lawn where I killed off the bent grass and then scalped it to 1 inch and raped it all by hand and mowed and bagged it all a second time seeded that at 4 pounds per thousand the new grass has now been cut 3 times. By October 1st we will have a full thick front lawn again that will be the time I begin spoon feeding it at the half rate with Scott's turf builder once every 2 weeks until it snows I'm praying November is warm 55 to 60

Pete I have a question I get my RGS and humic acid from you so on and so forth I am overseating my yard which I have taken down to bare dirt can I put the RGS on fresh seated lawn that has not germinated yet Will that help the seeds any or do I need to wait till I get germination??

I've though before that I needed to do a power rake and aeration. If my plan was to make 5-10 passes with the aerator, would power raking be necessary/waste of time?
