Great tips Mags! The stiff brush idea and the application of the dark colour first are my particular takeaways. The eye makeup looks gorgeous on you!

Super helpful MIss Maggie! I've about given up on any real color shadow for my crepey lids. Everything accentuates it, especially lighter colors, so I've just been going in with a matte, cooler contour bronzer in my crease, and maybe a very soft highlight color on inner lid a below brows. Fiddling with some smudgey eye liner color on the lid, so I appreciate the tip about using eye shadow sticks...I attempted this last month with a sparkly one from ELF. Yeah, NOPE. I tried it with the NYX smokey liner.....name escapes me, but it's working ok and gonna pick up a few other colors to play with. I have a neutral to warm skin tone with brown eyes and dark hair, so I feel like I can wear most colors (when I was younger), but these days, I go for pretty neutral colors and focus on pretty lashes and lips :)

I’m really interested in trying cream shadows but I have mature, very hooded eyes.

I just love these cream shadows, just a pity we can't get half of the gorgeous products here in South Africa. Although we can get Mac here, but very pricey.

Hi Maggie, do you still like the Kiko Milano eyeshadow sticks. I want to buy one and use it as an eyeliner too. If you were going to purchase one would it be Kilo or Laura Mercier? Also, have you tried the Nars Light Reflecting Foundation? I really want to buy it and I've heard it's good for dry mature skin, but it's $50.00 and I just don't know. I like a lightweight, glowy foundation, nothing cakey. Thank you!

Hey Kim, I haven’t tried the foundation yet. As far as the eyeshadow sticks, if you want a specific color, and only need one stick I would get the Laura Mercier. But I still love the KIKO sticks just as much as the higher priced one.

Is - “it cosmetics bye bye under eye “a good eye primer for cream stick eye shadows….also are cream shadows good for hooded eyes. I just ordered a bunch of julup pencils eye shadows

I haven’t tried that eye primer yet, but if it works for you - makes it wear longer and not crease - then it’s a good one!

I live in New Zealand and the Revlon cream eyeshadow pots are about $30. What color would you recommend for blue eyes as I can only afford 1 or 2 shadows
@MaggieDe

I think the browns would be look pretty’s on blue eyes, but color is very subjective.

I have noticed that denser, stiffer synthetic eye brushes work so much better for me, even with powder shadows. When skin around the eyes gets looser, seems to me that pigment gets deposited and blended better with the synthetic brushes. Those fluffy brushes really don’t work well at all anymore.

For airbrushing, soft bristles work better for me as far as blending eyeshadow. When I use synthetic bristles, most of the eyeshadow is moved around too much, and looks patchy. One brush i found that is very soft for airbrushing eyeshadow is Shaina B. Miami blending blush, available on Amazon. Holds up under numerous washings also, with soap and water.
