Tacoma, Wash. - Just before 1:30 a.m. on 4-19-21, Tacoma Fire was dispatched to a reported apartment fire in the 4300 block of S. 41st Street at the Forest Hill Village Apartments.
When crews arrived, they found heavy smoke and fire showing from the building. Crews iniated an offensive fire attack on the building with crews immediately going to the roof to perform ventilation.
Shortly thereafter, a second alarm was called. This brough in additional resources putting over 20 apparatus on the scene.
Due to the location of the building off S. Tyler, most of the apparatus had to park on S. Tyler and have their crews and equipment brought up to the fire scene.
Command reported two injuries with one of those people being transported to an area hospital.
In total, over a dozen people were displaced by this fire.
Tacoma Fire states that about 10 units were completely destroyed. American Red Cross is responding to assist.
Cause is under investigation.
