In this episode we make the worlds most over engineered tube holder, adding features until it can hold tubes better than any other!
The base is really just a 3X5 gridfinity base plate, more details about that can be found on the Zack Freedman channel

this is an excellent idea and use of the gridfinity platform!

Never thought I'd see gridfinity in the lab, great design.

I rhink the lights open up lots of cool ideas! Imagine a test / manufacturing procedure thats guided by light based work instructions.

This is actually a great solution! I am a bioengineer and usually even when i make simple assays I end up using two different holder, and their size are minimum 8x2. This makes me laugh because sometimes their duty is just to hold one falcon and 3 eppendorfs.

Make one my man. I'm in biochemistry so they are 100% approved for your applications. Like thats the exact problem I want to solve.

one of the biggest issues with PCR is cross contamination. in many cases you do want that physical separation. while you are just messing around in a home lab, much of this will be fine, but it isn't any good for working in an actual lab. you would have to unlearn all the bad habits. this is more than likely why a solution doesn't already exist, because it wouldn't be commercially viable to produce stuff just for a home lab that doesn't follow best practices for an actual lab.

Literally use this in a reasrch lab every day. Yet to see a problem with any of my PCR results. I'd say give it a try if your curious, don't be as sloppy as I was in the demos (that was just colored water) but changing pipette tips like normal still prevents cross contamination.

Excelent idea. I work in a lab too, and the racks are a problem

These changed my life, I make goofy videos so I feel like it was hard to convey just how great these are. If you have any access to a printer make some.

@@Knowlege_is_Human Yes, i have a 3d printer here in the lab. I make some silly things like themometer boxes or a strip cutter, butt this tube holder is realy usefull. Thanks Dr.
