Same but I was one of the idiots who shifted from pc to PS3 on launch and didn't want to make the same mistake but with the way things are going I'm probably going to get a new PC and get the ps5 second hand for GTA 6, either than that this generation has pretty much the worst line up both on Xbox and ps in terms of exclusives/games compared to the PS2/3 era's 4 years in but having to pay for online access and possible always online games being shut down permanently just makes PC gaming a better investment especially with emulation as well .
There really isn't much on PS5 worth playing you can't get on PS4 or PC. It seems like I upgraded to PS5 for 2 games. Doesn't seem worth it. Gta6 drove most of the original devs away so I doubt it'll be that great besides all of the PC correctness inserted
I bought a ps5 a year and a half ago, I have been play ing games since the age of 4, easily the worst generation of consoles. FF16 and FF7 Rebirth were cool but if I wasnt scared of being spoiled of the story I would have just waited. The library really isnt good enough to justify the purchase, I thought things were going to get better but man, even Stellar blade I was excited looking at it but when I played the demo I realized it was just another action game that played like a fromsoft game with a few other systems added onto it.
I really want to be on PS5 but like dawg normal people like me struggling to keep up with mortgage and utilities and insurance. PS5 is trying to triple dip too hard with games being crazy expensive, having to pay the subscription fee to play with friends (which is the primary reason I play 90% of games, I'm sure alot of other people feel the same) and still refusing to drop the price on the console. They don't understand they can't have all three of those stipulations at the same time and expect us to switch.
Ive had a PS5 over a year and while the graphcis are obviously better,it really seems like a huge milk from console producers tbh,my ps4 broke which is why i got a ps5 but honestly it justbdoesmt seem worth the price overall
I’m sorry but I’m never going to go console again I’m not going to pay for online services to play with other people when I already pay for Internet it’s just not happening. I’m sorry not sorry.
You're paying for your internet service. You're not paying to use gaming servers. By that logic you shouldn't be subscribed to Netflix, Disney Plus etc either. You have to pay for those too.
@@dapperfan44please don't justify the insanity that is charging people to use psn... It was free for years and years until Xbox started charging for it and then Sony followed... The bs they say about maintenance and all that is just pure nonsense they just know gamers are dumb and are willing to pay extra.
@andrewgardner58 Because PC is open, that's why. But guess what, you have a game like FF 14, and you have to pay monthly to play that, and similar games, whether you're on PC or not.
I jumped onto PS 5 last year from PS 4 and never looked back. Thankfully it is backward-compatible. So that helps. But to be honest ever since I got the Nintendo Switch and upgraded my PC...I hardly used my PS 4 for many years now
Most people are still on the older consoles is because they not willing to pay $450-500 for basically the same system with just a bit of graphics...and also the PS5 has no exciting games coming this year and probably next year, sony has fallen flat on their face lately. PC and Xbox has the most players engagement.
genuinly i dont really think its that much of sonys fault(although yes they need to stop removing features pointlessly like the www). Game companies have REALLY gone to shit recently. all AAA studios are either making remakes or games that feel like remakes. we are tired of the bullshit that they produce and all new games are exactly 60 dollars like wtf.
I'm 31 brother and here's my PERSONAL take (for me, I'm not forcing this on anybody, lmao. I know this shit can be divisive) This generation of consoles was the lamest goddamn tech demo I have ever seen. Sony and Microsoft TRULY jerked themselves off as being the next step towards a PC/Console hybrid. (Imagine if we got what those Steam Boxes were promising man.... I wish Steam OS didn't totally suck in 2014) Do you know how many of my friends, at the start of the pandemic, asked me about 120hz panels? Everybody thinking that they're going to buy a 3k dollar 4k 120hz panel and play games at 120 frames. I told everyone to hold up, because it ISNT LIKELY 120fps capability was going to be implemented in anything but a handful of Esports titles (Rocket League etc). 4 years later we're chilling with a WEIRD selection of games, the most remasters and remakes I have ever seen, and AMAZING studios that have been wholly shut down after receiving incredible sales metrics and "Overwhelming" reception. (What the fuck, Hi-Fi Rush?) If Sony announced tomorrow their preview of their new PS Revolution Console (of course I made that up) I couldn't care less. If Microsoft said "Jan 12th 2025, we're launching the new Xbox Omega" or some shit, I abbbbbbsolutely couldn't care less. I'm a former PC elitist that's chilled TF out the last 5 or so years, and I feel like console gamers got fucked up the creek without a raincoat, got me so miffed I'm out here making up turns of phrase! TLDR Console market and the publishers that operate within them have showed some of the most callous, greedy disregard for their customers I've ever seen in the 25 years I've been gaming, 20 of those actually trying to be cognizant and pay attention to how the space works. My PS4 Pro I was lucky enough to snag cheap RIGHT before they were discontinued has seen tens of thousands of hours, and will see many more, so long as my ability to take care of electronics/logic board components stays with me.
My god youre insufferable, the ps3 and xbox360 were marketed as 1080p/60fps machines, meanwhile, they ran everything beside a 2d rayman game in sub 720p and way below 30 fps. Like i seriously dont understand whether youre actual kids that are now shocked that their console isnt running everything at its Max output or this is your first generation of consoles. Marketing the max output resolution and performance doesnt mean everything will run like that, a €2000 graphics cards cant guarantee that, and you think a 400€ console should? Last year was the best year in gaming ever, if youre still dissapointed, find a new hobby dude, this one isnt for you
My dude you had me absolutely cracking up at "Making up turns of phrase" needed to regather myself afterwards 😂 Totally respect your viewpoint, even if I maybe wouldn't use those exact words. It's been a weird gen. Sometimes incredible, often silent and barren. It's far better in terms of QOL than previous generations, but I totally understand where you are coming from, and why you feel the way you do!
They close studios that struggled behind the scenes. Nothing weird when boss retires, they fail to find replacement, and most of talent leaves with boss. By that time Tango as studio was a husk that was just put out of misery. Bethesda doesn't have much presence in Japan, and since they failed to find replacment there you go. Next step is just studio closure. We are in inflation times, most of gaming companies must cherry pick who lives and who dies. As you could see from bunch of companies who had MMO's lately sure as heck focused to give more manpower and money to their MMO projects to go on. Square ditched more money for FFXIV, Bethesda merged another studio to ZOS to help them on ESO, and even WoW received more quality of life updated in wake of Activision getting new ownership.
I only own a Switch and upgraded to OLED last year. With all the PS360 ports and newer games i really dont see the need for another consoles (even the Switch 2, even though i am excited for it). As an example i owned Kakarot sinds 2022 and i just reached the Buu saga (i also played some DLC in chronical order). Just taking my time, finished Xenoblade after 1,5 of playing as well. Also Trilogy ports, like Ninja Gaiden. Replaying Mario Odysee a second time (my nephew ruined my save file a bit) What i like the most is that i still dont own Breath of the Wild nor TOTK😂 or any other Switch Zelda ports. (I did finish Minish Cap last year but on my 3DS). And i am bit of gaming, but I can imagine many consumers feeling satisfied with what is offered. Most 'Legacy games' are on Switch.
I was in the ps4 camp until I recently bit the bullet for Rebirth and Stellarblade. Both are phenomenal games. I have no regrets and wish I would have bought a PS5 sooner. Stop peasant coping. 60fps makes a massive difference. The load times make a huge difference. The share system works so much better and faster. Im able to produce clips in 1440p 60fps for RU-vid shorts and tiktok content easily with the ps5.
bro that 2 games. Im not saying there not good games but dont say the rest of us are peasant coping when there is only a few ps4 exclusives and most of them are remakes. Everyone was hyped and ready to buy the ps5 when it came out so money is definently not the problem. The prblem is THERE ARE NO GAMES. if your telling me that you were satisfied with just getting 2 games then i dont think your that much of a gamer of course noone cares about the ps5. Game companies have gone to shit and wont improve so therre is really no point in getting the ps5
@abduking4204 jesus christ, it's like people on the internet have to be spoon-fed information, or they'll shit themselves to death. Everything from the PS4 carries over. The Free PS5 upgrades make it worth it. There are plenty of games to play and replay in superior fidelity. It is a Peasant cope. People won't see for themselves because they're afraid to let go of the money. Instead, they let Joe RU-vidr convince them that they aren't coping by sticking with a noticably inferior console. The PS5 hits the benchmark and can be compared to PC gaming. I know it's something that console players have a hard time wrapping their heads around, I was also that way once upon a time, but better frame rate means a better experience.
Also, the problem isnt just exclusivity on PS5, Its really not needed to upgrade to have the 'exact same experiences' PS5 is purely QOL( resolution, framerate, load time) but it crosses the line where who have such imsights might as well buy PCs. Even more incentiviced by Sony and Micrisoft exclusives being ported as well.
Said i would wait for a price drop, got a $500 Gaming Laptop and haven't regret it or think about getting a ps5 anymore. Gaming plus i can do my work in blender and clip studio.
@@abduking. yeah just with faster loading times and a quiet engine with no loud fan. Like bro I still got my ps4 and It’s the first gen one. I bet ya couldn’t even hold on to the first gen and probably got the slim or the pro.
@@asianboi000001 the noise levels is exaggerated(your house probably has no airflow) and when you deep into a game you tune it out anyways. loading times arent that deep and the end result of gaming is the same anyways. all those issues are minor and arent bad enough to justify the 500 dollars to play the same games and like 3 more non-remake exclusives. Dont get me wrong there is absolutly no problem with the ps5 itself the power is great but theres simple no games worth switching over to it.
I like my PS5 because it doesn’t sound like a jet engine when I play for more than 15 minutes. …but my PS4 Pro still gets regular use, and I consider it a better gaming experience. And the PS3 even more than that when I don’t want to play more recent releases.
Microsoft already paid third party studio for exclusive showing and first reveal of gameplay on their Xbox Showcase. Hints were rather vague talking about 'weary fanbase that needs some solace'. I could bet they paid EA for exclusive reveal of Dragon Age 4 Dreadwolf. Okay there is missing info there. Remember scandal where Gamespot and several other console selling shops were pushing onto customers Playstations ? When they came to shop with intention to buy Xboxes ? Yeah that happened. And yeah shops were repeatedly understocked by their own doing on Xbox consoles, instead they were overbuying Playstations. So the incentive from company was ... pretty much make customer NOT buy an Xbox only Playstation. So the sale of consoles was indeed manipulated in industry. It doesn't exactly speak about popularity, since like I said, shops were pushing wrong console to people who came for the other one. Also most of Playstation owners are casuals. Who play Call of Duty and Fifa .. They cared for plastic box that can run newest CoD. And maybe some games for kids. So by that point in next gen .. they probably could pick Xbox instead since CoD will be on Xbox, and on Xbox Game Pass which is cheaper, and Game Pass could have loads of free games to try so kids would have to play. In general I don't think there is much value anymore in Playstation for casual user.
I don't have a PS4 or any console. I have been playing my games, for a long time now, only on mobile phones but I own a gaming notebook... However, my friends are on PS4 and I have been waiting to see them upgrading... But none of them upgraded - because of the prices.
PS4 Sold 120 million consoles,Ps5 Is just reaching 60 million at a similar pace of sales as PS4.By the end of the generation almost all will have moved over for sure.
PS5 is a complete joke I don't need to be a beta tester for GTA 6 on PS5 when I could just wait for the PC version it's going to run better and look better
I would rather wait. Cuz getting a game at lunch is never a good idea Cyberpunk 2077 is a good reason why you shouldn't I rather wait until all everything is iron out.
@@AL-np1im You couldn’t be more wrong. I have never touched Online in any GTA game. I want to play the Campaign day 1. I took a hiatus from every social to avoid spoilers for Stellar Blade. I’m gon do the same for GTA6.
@@ainbo9022 Now I agree Cyberpunk was a shit show. XD but I see where you’re coming from considering how bad the PC ports generally are. I have been a PC guy myself in the past but not being able to play GTA5 and having to wait years for it. Didn’t sit right to me. Maybe that’s just me.
At Microsoft yes, at the Xbox division no. MS are overlooking the division heavily after that splurge, this is why Tango, Arkane Austin and Co were closed, because they weren't working on anything close to launch and could easily save money. You don't get $3 trillion in the bank by haphazardly spending $77 Billion and not trying to recoup it quickly, that's how mega corps work
For me, theres just no point in upgrading because there really isnt an upgrade. In the past, say 90's-00's, you upgraded because graphically you were seeing massive leaps and games were also getting bigger and providing more entertainment value; there were good reasons. Now, we see incremental changes that dont actually create new, exciting experiences. The graphical capabilities have stagnated and the present generation isnt offering much over an 11 year old console that is obviously still relevant. We've hit a point where graphics have been pretty amazing since the ps3/360 era, and our only problem going forward is memory and systems that are obsolete the moment you buy them; begs the question, whats the point?
I will say the load times and graphics are way cleaner on ps5 than ps4. Theres few games that take advantage of the hardware but the ones that do are impressive like Astro bot, Demons Souls, Final Fantasy 16, Alan Wake 2, Spiderman 2. Nevermind Baldurs Gate 3 not being on ps4 which was my favorite games this gen so far for sure. A lot of games really needed ps5 upgrade to really shine like Borderlands 3 and Assassin Creed Valhalla take 3 minutes to load up on ps4 when it only take 30 seconds on ps5 was it an optimization issue probably but thats 2 and half minutes you just saved that you can use to actually play the game. Most games load times were cut signficantly I have legit saved dozens of hours since getting my ps5 on load times alone. I can see people saying the ps5 doesn't have enough games but to say it wasn't a big upgrade is false theres no way you can't tell the difference between playing on ps4 and ps5 if you actually got one.
