I returned to the Umineko soundtrack once again since it's awesome. In this case I arranged Over the Sky by pre-holder. I believe it only appeared in the later four chapters of the VN, and apparently it also appeared in Higurashi which I haven't read. The original track has only a few key musical ideas and is very atmospheric. In this arrangement I took the chord progression and main melody and tried spinning them in different ways while somewhat trying to hold onto the atmospheric or expansive sense of the original track. Even if it does not completely align with the mood or intent of the original track, I felt like I took inspiration from the contents of the soundtrack and VN as a whole in this arrangement.
Thanks a ton to my collaborators on this track! Getting to work with live recorded instruments is always a treat.
