cause the usb on the pctatrack is used only to transfer samples to the cf card... you can't even use the usb for midi! is disappopinting they didn't change anything in the mark 2. i'm still rocking my mk1

I dunno if I agree with that. Besides CV and a larger enclosure, what’s different about the Live MKii? While I’ve never gotten to play an Octatrack, I do own an Analog Four and have owned a Rytm, and both of those pieces of hardware don’t seem to compete with the MPC because they’re totally different animals, and each can stand on their own. But that’s just me Why do you think Elektron needs to make an OT3?

Id argue the person buying an OT is not the same kind of person who is buying an MPC. And they are probably making very different kinds of music.

Have an ot mki. Got a force to try it out and immediately sent it back. Not the kind of workflow you get inspired by. And the software platform they run on is so buggy still to this day. Overbridge was an exercise in patience for sure but akai takes just as long to add basic features to their devices and they never address the bugs being reported.

I cannot see why they couldn’t at least do an editor that would allow programming the Octatrack and exchanging patterns, parts and samples between projects.

Frank Schneider I don't really need OB but it would be nice when it really works stable. Guess more updates will come to improve experience and gear for OB users.

itimmy101 yes part of the ob installation is an audio driver that will turn the devices into 2 channel usb sound cards using the audio inputs. You also can record audio streams from the separate Channels tho it’s better to use the vst for that as the latency compensation of the daws vst engine will automatically sync up the tracked audio from the Elektron device. It’s a lot like resampling any other vst but it comes from hardware. There’s a manual available with the installer. I highly encourage people to read it when going through the first time setup.

Doctor Tschill I wouldn’t say that. It’s not designed to be a sound card tho it can function as one. It’s not got great latency etc. a UA are like Rolls Royce. This would be like 90s Honda Civic. It’ll get ya where ya need to go.

I'm having an issue where I've downloaded and installed overbridge. It's allows me to open the vst in ableton. It allows me to open all the digitakt tracks to separate tracks in ableton. But there is no audio what so ever coming through. Any ideas?

Eesh i have the exact same issue. I only downloaded last nights (overbridge) so surely the newest version. OS X Catalina. Will not show up device in standalone or ableton via plugin. What did you do to fix?
