@shhsjfkf2832 I mean the ultras still got that massively better looking square design but just with a punch hole. Honestly that squared off look alone puts it leagues ahead of basically anything else and the redmagic is the only other recent notable device I've seen with it. If only the display itself was as good as samsung. It couldn't crack 800 nits and was relatively colour inaccurate in tests from gsm arena and I also don't know why they're using gorilla glass 5 for the front bcuz that was also on my 7 year old s7 edge Either way if they released a $900-$1000 variant with stuff like that fixed and none of the base ram and storage upselling bs than I'd potentially get it. I also feel like a s6-s10 era samsung that never had the 2020 ceo change wouldve had something similar without the downsides by now but oh well.
Yeah, too bad more companies don't make them. There are plenty of people like me out there who don't take selfie every 15 minutes and would rather have uninterrupted display.
@@jackwilson5542 The propose of front camera is not for selfie tho it is for video calls. You can do selfie or vlog but that is not the main focus of it.
Look at the xda's developers review on it so u can see the display up close, idk why I could only barely tell the chin was bigger in this video but its actually like 2.5x the top bezel thickness like a Samsung phone bruh. The boxy phone chin bezel curse lmao who will finally break it first?
And also the squared desogn, looks so much better than rounded corners that eat into your display. Glad to see samsing isn't the only one with it anymore.
Do you think the back is actual metal as he said or is it glass that looks like brushed aluminium? He's made this mistake in a previous red magic review..
HAHA.I just love the way you review. You are the most unique reviewer! I just love it and always keep this hilarous at the same time informative and enough information neeeded. You are just entertaining to watch Tech Spurt.
This gaming phone is proper insane! I love the bordeless display! I don't think I've seen a higher benchmark on any other Android phones (including my S23 Ultra, which is saying something)!
Man i just cant seem to get into cellphone gaming. I still prefer my switch lite for on the go gaming. Something about a phone is like missing something.
@@dnegel9546that phone is more than quadruple the performance of a switch if not more you can emulate switch games on it with ease better then the switch itself... It's pathetic how weak the switch is it has the same performance as I chip from 6 years ago
@@dnegel9546 controller under your fingers i suppose :) but there are adapters for smartphones as far as i know or even compatibility with bluetooth controllers. and you carry our phone with u anyway, so your would reduce the carry package by a lot
@@dnegel9546 It's a thing that is like an acquired taste mobile gaming. Having some buttons under your fingers was always the go-to for gaming. But the touch buttons on top try to give you the feel with the mobile itself and for more you have external adapters.
I have the 8 Pro and I almost never game. It's just that it's one of the few phones in the world with a bazelless and notchless display. The boxy design is sexy af as well. And to top it all off, a premium phone for a non-premium price - got mine for 634€ ❤ Edit: did I forget to add that it also has a headphone jack? Yep, no shitty dongles to think about, or being constantly afraid if you forgot to charge your bluetooth headphones... I'll be buying the 9S or 10S in a year or two, that's for sure 🔥🔥
my first gaming phone was the rog 3 but that had such a mediocre display so i sold it to buy the black shark 5 pro but it suffered heating problems and mediocre battery life so i returned it 2 months ago. i think this 8s pro will finally be a true gaming phone i can buy, good display, good cooling system. basically solves the issues that the rog 3 and black shark 5 pro had.
@@Sincerity1993 omg🤣 dude cost of the rog is around 300+ USD in materials, price reach 1300 because of the brend name, and it has been already established over years. Red magic is fighting over that gaming industry and has to give more for less, those are the basics. I have both phones and I'm telling you there is no difference whatsover in performance. Only difference is that rog has bit better software.
ZTE's Nubia line has been making gorgeous phones for a while now and this phone is drop dead sexy and packed to the brim with useful features and priced way under par. Way to go!!!!
I sold it already. Lots of issues with notifications when screen was off. It looks great but they forget to just add the most basic things to work. I am not impressed with the software.
there is a lots of gaming phones out there, but once had a foldable phone, never go back to normal phones, the big screens just completely changed the way of gaming and watching movies on phone, I can never go back anymore.
Are you serious? I really hope it really is metal. It's what a gaming phone needs. I will buy this in a second if it really is metal. But this reviewer has made the mistake of calling metal looking back panels as metal, even though it's glass, on the red magic 8.
@@Caius1930 I don't even know, why all this companies placing glass on the back of the phones 🤔 expensive, can scratch easily, breaks easily, collects dirt from the hands, scratches even in pockets. Slippery as fu.. and even with the glass back, people add cases
@BR7AVEONE completely agree. But many consumers are too braindead to not defend glass, and to not demand metal unibodies or backs again. It's so dumb. I've been searching online. No clue if this 8s pro has metal. If u find any confirmation please let me know ok?
I want to get the rm8pro (no this s one) But im worried about the software , the lifespawn of the battery and the future updates for the phone ( for example rm8pro have RM Os6 and this one have Rm Os8)
The battery is 6000 mah biggest of any other Android phone so even if it dies over time will last as Ling as regular Android phones also warranty bro loll😊
@user-vt4nw4vk4n it's not just for gaming. It has similar performance to s23U, which cost about 200€ more, and offer water resistance to 20m (I was diving with my S21U back in the day, up to 10m), spen, much better cameras and pretty much same performance.
@@Drejkolwell this phone is not made for you. Its made for gamers thats why it has a built in FAN. A S23ultra will melt away compared to this. As it should, since its not a gaming phone.
@@dnegel9546 I have S23U, Im playing Honkai Star Rail, Honkai Impact 3rd, Diablo Immortal (this one from time to time), and Pubg mobile on max settings. Battery lasts forever. I mean, I have about 2h of free time during my ordinary work, where I play some mobile games, and then for +/- 5h I have the YT music in the background. That + Discord/whatsup/messenger messages, ordinary phone calls, sometimes some of the netflix and the battery lasts for whole 2 days of heavy usage, or even little longer. Anyway, quick charge lets me charge back my smartphone in little of time to the max anyway. And speaking of the performance, it's the same cpu that's in the 8S pro. Keeps 60fps in games after those 2h of the gameplay. Phone gets warm but not burning hot, just warm. When I pay premium price for the smartphone, I want premium performance in one aspect or very good performance overall. 8S pro costs almost the same price as discounted S23U, meanwhile gives less. Also, what's the point of an smartphone that can be played only at home or in the safe environment. If I would want to play mobile games at home or at work, I would just download bluestack on my PC. If Im outside on a walk with my dog and it's raining, I still want to be able to take out my device and check on the notifications or change the music, or whatever. It may not be the targeted audience but at this point, I have no idea who the targeted audience is. Fan will have so much of dust, dirt and cotton after just few weeks of keeping it in your pocket that it might just gave up sooo, what. Is it an device to have only at home ? Why not then go for some SD gen2+ tablet instead if it's only for the gaming purposes.
The first big phone that i really like! Small lens back cameras who doesn't cover 40% of the back, all display, and the headphone jack??? My gosh! I want this, but i can't afford it! 😭
@@JohnSmith-ef8nrand is a good amount less tall so u don't have massive black bars that always cover the s23's hole unless ur willing to cut part of ur video off to zoom in and it's a lot on a 20:9 display, I had an s20 for years so speaking from experience, phones shouldn't have gone above 19:9 at most imo.
does it support reverse lanscape? i was curious if it would work with my gamesir x2 controller. and usb c plugs up on left when in lancape. thanks for the video
for me i have the iphone 12 pro max pacific blue color. is it worth to get a gaming phone. like the redmagic 8s pro or to wait for redmagic 9 pro series. is it worth the money.
I've got the 6s Pro. It's still a gaming beast. Never lagged in any game, stayed decently cold under heavy loads. The one con of this phone is the lack of software support. Redmagic (Nubia) doesn't care about that. They care more about the hardware and churning out new phones. 6s Pro is still on Android 11 and the latest security patch was on 1st of October 2021! 😆 For that I haven't bought any of their newer phones.
WAIT -- you mentioned YET MORE METAL on the back of the phone? Are you SURE that is a metal back cover? Or is it just glass that has a brushed aluminium pattern on it??
I still waiting for an update for my red magic 8 pro, no security update at all so beware if u want this phone, the company is completely abandoned their old products.
Wow really? Kind of feels like this is something that should be brought to light, I never liked companies that abandon their customers like that. Shame on them
Hello: I have 1 question, I want to buy a phone, but there are several that I really like. Motorola edge 40 pro, Redmagic 8s pro, Xiaomi 13T pro. Which would be a better choice?
Cool gaming phone, it is beautiful too, interesting how they have made it basically look like an ordinary phone and yet it's loaded, I really love the fan start up sound customisation plus it gave you a chance to let loose but all in all what a fun device these Chinese are really reading their books .
sir? can you do a video of how to clean the dust that accumulated in the Built-In fan of Redmagic 8S Pro without opening the back glass? is it possible sir? thank you sir!
Out of sheer curiosity, can you try running war thunder mobile? On max ultra and 120 modes in the settings, I have a feeling that game might be just under optimized enough to make it struggle, though I'm almost not sure if it would with it's power.
Good for gamers? This thing would be a godsend for people living in hot places cause that fan would absolutely keep it cool in the blistering afternoon heat. I mean for the price its at, this is a great flagship even for a regular person who doesn't game. I mean its got a massive battery, performance for days, the best cooling, etc. All that combined with a design thats REALLY gonna turn heads everywhere you go since its uninterrupted display will catch eyes.
The only thing I don't like about these gaming smartphones is the lack of updates. Whatever version of Android it's on, it stays on. I've had 1 red magic phone and 2 rog versions of gaming phones and I ended up giving one to my son where now connectivity is poor and can only be on 4g.
My RedMagic 7 just got updated to Android 13 this week. It came with Android 12. The messaging app had to be updated separately after the fact and would not open after the update. (no prompts or warnings just had to figure it out) The clear all notifications button is gone. Notification history button will only show if you have a uncleared notification showing. Volume booster doesn't work anymore and Mora volume resets to high after every reboot. Thats just what I've noticed so far in less than a week. Liked 12 better.
I know he's only playing Genshin to show case the phones he reviews, but my god I wish I could help him, he's been stuck in the same areas for like 3 years now! 😭
It’s probably only for showcase maybe? I don’t think you would need to go to different area if you could just stay in the same area if you are only showcasing, It saves time.
Will i be able to put an SD card in it? Im sorry if this seems like a foolish question i don't have much knowledge on phones but im interested in getting this phone
I dont understand why these companies wont make pop up selfie camera anymore, it will be better as you wont lose in quality/ Ive been using my oneplus 7 pro for 4 years and the mechanical pop up camera is still working without any problem.
can u pls also include genshin impact loading game time in review pls on some budget and top phones it does take quite a time after an update so i will be grateful to know the loading time as to not havt to wait 2 mins for loading the game
@@oluwadarejoshua8595 apple products is a low bar to compare to . But isn't that one meant to be like a mini iPad ? ! Regardless I've been using Sony Xperia 5 for 5 years now and all the version are Les than 160g .
