Today I went to get my diabetes medication at the only Mercury Pharmacy here on Siargao Island and they filled all my prescriptions but one. This setback caused me to look for alternative pharmacies to get my monthly diabetic medication.

You should have a glucose monitoring meter to be checking your blood sugar level daily.That will determine what you have to eat.

I went keto 256 to 156. Eating fats and meat NO CARBS. Your pancreas is still shooting out insulin just not enough 2 cover your carb load. Rice is sugar to your blood as you well know...

This was the main factor to me leaving here, medications. There are a 100 other reasons adding to it but just a PIA trying to deal with shortages and expense. Went to 14 Mercury drugs in one day to come back with only a 30 day supply.

A little history sesson on Mercury Drug. You will never see a Mercury Drug in any SM in the Philippines. I was told that the man that created SM started out as a shoe service outside of a Mercury Drug and they shyn him away and told him he couldn't be outside their store. After he became rich and created SM's throughout the Philippines, he will never allow Mercury Drug to have a store in any SM.

if you went on a carnivore diet you wouldnt need to spend on insulin anymore(yes its reversible). bacon n eggs perfect but french toast hard pass. theres a carnivore/keto filipino doctor/vlogger on yt who treats diabetic patients. but thats your life you do you. ive been carnivore about a year now i feel great i feel even younger

@@kingbeestacker873 there are several of them actually, im not a patient of theirs as i have no diabetis and i dont know any of them personally, i only went carnivore to have optimal health and i learned about it thru famous doctor vloggers like ken berry, eric westman, dr chaffee. shawn baker and later on i found out about these filipino keto/carnivore vloggers as well which was a pleasant surprise. didnt know the movement has started in the philippines as well and they have collaborated with the western doctors as well. if youre going on a keto or carnivore diet for a medical issue it is best to be guided by real doctors all the way because its so easy to get yourself into an improper keto or carnivore diet theres lots of fake keto carni out there on youtube. among these filipino doc/vloggers are Doktor's Desk, Lowcarb health Doctor Don Agcopra. bro i went full on carnivore diet cold turkey lost 9lbs in 7 days lmao... but the transition was brutal. had lose stools the first week, palpitations the first 2 weeks, but the thing i hated most was the weakness which lasted for like 6 months. im so glad i didnt quit. they say some people take 6 months for the body to get adjusted to using fat as fuel, the lucky ones get adapted in like 3 weeks. my abs are shredded now i havent seen them since highschool lol and im middle age. im never going back to a carb diet. now my energy is like a straight line that never dips even when im hungry so i hope you dont quit. if youre concerned or afraid just get professional guidance from a lowcarb doc.

@@silveraddict875 fatty meat, butter, ghee, but i think keto also works (if im not mistaken less than 20 grams of carbs per day or eating non starchy plants) . basically you give up your carb addiction in exchange for health

Being diabetic and living with a filipina wife's cooking is not healthy. My wife can come up with more sweet or carb combinations in a single meal than I would have thought was possible. She can take perfectly healthy meats and coat it with sugar to make different types of tocinos. It isn't uncommon to have pancit along with rice and one or two other carb sides in a single meal. Learn to grocery shop and cook for yourself and you'll need a lot less insulin and have a chance to be healthier. It isn't a coincidence that 'rice is life' and 'pancit ensures a longer life'. Gotta love the Philippines and filipinas.

Hey. I have this idea for you, only an idea. Get someone to make you A small card, like A business-card with your RU-vid info on it. I think it will be allot easier to give A card then to explain and expect people to remember, RU-vid address and all that. And it might feel A little more personal that way.

Sticky Rice Bakery goods, the White Beard Breakfast and being ate up with diabetes out in the boonies. Skeeters about got u and it’s more where they come from. House with in laws now that scares me because I’ve done it before. Drugs are more expensive and what hospital they have there especially if you’re in bad shape to start with. I don’t know but I will say I’m not inspired to do the same.

Philly, watch your sodium intake. If you went on a lower sodium/low sugar diet all that water retention would stop, the swelling in your leg go down. Also take a multi vitamin. Love the video❤🎉

Make sure your potassium and magnesium levels are good, my legs swelling up because of low levels of both and both of these minerals are excreted in sweat, which we do a lot here.. take care

There are many kids who are sent off to private schools in other states here in the US, and across the world, who aren't considered "abandoned," as you seem to imply. Brian, the reason nobody cooks over medium eggs is because typically the yolk sacks are too weak (for many reasons) and they break when they turn them (or the cook is just not that talented 🤣). Therefore... it's gonna be sunny side up most times. Better get used to it... you're in the province now!
