Hello my fellow American been living here on Siargao on and off since 2019. Whenever you want we could get together and I’ll give you my take on the Island and where to source some things. Welcome!
Makes a big difference, having foreign tourist to cater for. Where I live in central pangasinan, there are no tourists at all. Leave it to you imagination, what is available !! Lol Nearest decent stores are 20 kms away!
Philly you have hit the jackpot with the restaurant food place. Now when it’s in your freezer how do you keep everyone from opening the freezer door ? Amazing also the town is not trashy . Thanks for Sharing.
HI BRIAN , WHERE was the fresh muzz? The PARMGIANO REGGIANO?? LOL I liked your vids from ANGLES but prefer your new digs. TY so much for sharing , can t wait to see more. GOD BLESS CIAO
" Brother Brian Kerver, " And it is indeed wonderful, amazing and incredible feeling that you and your family are living a relaxing, interesting and a laid --- back Philippine island way of lives free from all sorts of pressures, all --- types of tensions and all --- kinds of stress there. And I also love the many, many and many coffee shops, stores and restaurants in your super natural, peaceful and serene Siargao island.
You guys look happier exploring your new home area. After you get truly settled in life will be less hectic than living in the busy city. Sometimes change is a good thing. Keep exploring 😊
I really did enjoy this video I love my chicken wings and cheese and bacon also good deal to be on a small island I would go back if I were you two every month keep on having fun and be self everyone all my best Ramon
Interesting trip. I buy large blocks of cheddar cheese, cut it up and freeze it. Big savings over slices. Grass fed imported beef is rare here also. Many Filipinos do not like beef. They didn't grow up eating it and it has a strange smell to them.
Hi Brian, mate, love the Markets I have been following you over many years love your videos under many titles. This again is another great video take care best wishes to the lute and family.
Glad you found a jack pot when you need it. I am not sure if you said you had a generator . Thanks for sharing your ride around be safe .🙏stay healthy 💪, 👍👍👍👍👍
Hi Brian, I saw on their sign that Dales is a part of BelCris. BelCris is a very large restaurant food supply, food import, meat processing company in Cebu. Before CHMMP they were getting together with the restaurant food supply companies on other islands to work together to get better prices for the foods they import. It's worked out quite well as they can now be found all over the Philippines. Yes, the things they carry can be pricey. It costs to ship perishable foods from all around the world, but you're getting high quality imported products at probably the best prices you'll find in the Philippines. Another nice thing is, if they don't carry what you want, they can probably special order it for you because BelCris probably stocks it for their other distributors.
Great Video Brian And Lot ! DALE'S Looks Like A Great Place To Shop For Quality Meats And Cheeses ! I Hope You And Your Family Have A Wonderful Day ! 🙂🙂🙂🙏🙏🙏💯💯💯
I agree with the all meat diet! There is no cheese where I live or lunch meats (processed). I can eat fresh seafood, chicken, pork, and questionable beef (not really keen on the beef available in my area) I can eat plainly those meats daily the rest of my life, no issue, where some guys need variety and usa products, but likely those are tainted with the same chemicals and shit that made us diabetic to begin with.
@brianandlynphilippines Hit all that meat up with healthy fat like avocado 🥑. Take with your protein(meat). Will lessen the insulin bump even more. Pure sugar/carbs huge insulin spike. Pure protein is about half that spike. And 100% pure fat very small bump. So when you eat that meat with avacado a healthy fat will half that spike. It's hard to explain without a graph. I went from 256 to 156. Then did carbs again and went to 220. Now doing keto again and losing again. Our body type is the same when we eat car, insulin spikes and when that happens our bodies will store that energy. Rice, bread, fruits are all of course sugar to our blood. Type 2 means a person's pancreas is still creating and spraying insulin it's just not enough to cover the carb load the person is consuming...
@user-qs5hz4mf3p trackin', I am a follower of Dr Jason Fung on RU-vid, that is how I brought my morning blood sugars to 100-112. The avocado's where I live taste nasty, but I eat fatty pork.
Yeah.. restaurant suppliers have the stuff. Next time you go get some brisket, ask what kind of wood they use for smoking brisket. Don't forget. Thanks in advance. Just wondering, you can't just toss in any old wood for smoking meats
Looks a great life there. MY GF was brought up in Biliran so kind of similar to where you are. More severe typhoons being on the east coast but sure its worth it. Looking forward to more videos. Cheers
One of the benefits of provincial living... freshest fish! @1:04 I recognized that Yahoo right away. Didn't see any Mahi though. Lots of Taringnan (skipjack) which we like to BBQ.
Life is still way cheaper on this small Philippines Island compared to where I live on a small island in the Seychelles. I would like to see at least one small place like this here where I can get all of these. Here only the pack of cheese and the wings that money you spent in total will not be enough. I'm sure the slab of Mozzarella is around two kg that was in your wife's hands. Yesterday I bought one kg of Mozzarella here it cost me R450 that in pesos will be around 2000. One kilo of chicken wings here is around 250 pesos. That is if you buy only the cheese and the wings here that you bought I say it would be around 5000 pesos.
RU-vid has long been a little pastime of mine and I watch quite a few vloggers but I tell you sir, the way you show places and speak about life in the PH is really profound and simply amusing and relaxing to me Im fond of your vlogs, in this case happens to be in a beautiful island town I've never been to. Btw have you been up north in like iLocos?
I noticed that too. Many vloggers I cant watch more than a minute, but something about Phillys videos captivates me. Maybe its his tone of voice, his topics, or the way he explains things and doesnt rush. Hes the best❤🎉
I think you all look better now . Also slowly getting happier . I am planning on southern Leyte move been there done . Yes big culture shock in the end all is good .
Philly, I’m sitting here looking at that big block of cheese. Thinking how many grilled cheese sandwiches could you get out of that? Great video keep up the great work! 😎
Mr Brian my wife and I would love to visit your island however we were wondering if it’s hard to find an apartment because we’re both disabled. My wife Remy and I have been to the Philippines many times she is from a little called Nueva Ecija, sorry not sure if I spelled it right. I love the area you’re in because it seems that you don’t have a lot of traffic and their also places where I can find American foods.
It gets real hot in the middle east and even Italy but you do not see people raising their shirt like that. As a Filipino I can tell you most people here don't have a concept of "decency" or privacy mostly in slum areas where they grew up, everybody just trying to deal with the heat day in and out nobody cares anymore except us and the world
Excellent walk and talk Brian and Luisa. Cheese is one 😋 of my favourites, hopefully yours is good quality 👌🏻.Nice market and beach area 😀 Thanks for sharing this interesting video 👍🏻👍🏻🤜🤛✌🏻🇬🇧
My wife sells imported frozen meat wholesale, the wings were very expensive. Normally 120-160 per kilo. I was expecting them to be close to 200 seeing as he has to ship them down there but not that expensive lol.
Nice clean town. I liked that Dale's store. Decent prices. There ya go, if you don't want your Filipina wife's family eating all your food, eat stuff they don't like. Hahahahahaha. Good video, as always, Brian.
