Overflow Danger on the Lake

A short video. Breakup is underway. Snow and ice are thawing rapidly here now with temperatures near 50º Fahrenheit each day. Overflow can be caused by this and other ways too. Earthquakes, lake level falling or rising, etc. Snowmachines are put up for the year and I'm looking forward to the rains for my water uses.

The comment you made about taking the snow machine across the lake but needing to go fast is how I am turning around in the driveway right now. Slow down and you're bound to sink! Glad you have a safe-ish area to get water. Thanks for sharing the beauty of your place with us again. 😊

Hi Ed. I like the old music but it is nice to change it up. Just love your videos and always happy when a new one comes out. Who would think that a 77 year old grandma would enjoy watching you work on your snow machine or wind turbine.

Good afternoon, Ed! Spring sure comes in swiftly once she makes up her mind! The lake sure gets sloppy quickly. I'm so glad you are smart about the line, of when to not go out on the lake. My cabin on the Kenai isn't fun this time of year, even on a snowmachine. There is still lots of snow there, punky, rotten! Ed, enjoy the rest of your time home this go around. I'm sure you are planning your summer activities at this point. Stay safe and healthy, and enjoy your life on a mountain top!

Ed they make a drill operated transfer pump. You might find useful if you have a cordless drill. You could pull-up to you hole on the ice and with a long enough hoses you would have to take the jugs out of the sled. Just a thought. Love your channel! Stay well stay safe.

The worst is when you punch through spring snow on snowshoes and you fall forward at the same time. Knees don’t bend that direction.
