Excellent job on the cleanup. Love the background stories. Don't be to upset with the dog. He is only doing his job. Warming his people a stranger is about. 😊
This graveyard looks immensely better than it did. So much of it has been torn away and removed to make it able to breathe and shows the beauty of the headstones, tabletop tombs and the iron crosses. It really looks wonderful. I do love the iron crosses but especially the Celtic one, which I have never seen one so detailed with decoration. Cathal thank you for taking us back to see the work than has been done. Willie and you did a phenomenal job of this graveyard. I am sure those buried there are eternally greatful.
Fantastic video, and hands on restoration to the grounds of this old church yard and historical memorial inscriptions , amazing knowledge of Oscar Wilde,s ancestors great work
Love This! BRAVO!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼❤A Job Very Well Done!!!!❤️👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 With the Headstones that you can barley see, if you go and get a really big pad of thin paper, they usually, here in the states, sell them in the kids arts and crafts section and a few pieces of drawing charcoal, then when you come upon one that is almost gone, just put a piece of paper down on the stone, and lightly with a piece of rub it all over the paper. Almost always it will work perfectly, then you have a record of it and if cemetery were to try to revive the stone, or print a picture of what it originally said an nicely attach to the stone, that way You’re not disturbing History. Now that I have written a small book, about something I’m sure you already know about!! Love Your Channel and Sues channel!!! 🧿💞🪦⚰️🪦💞🧿🪬💞Thank You Both!!!🧿💞🪦⚰️🪦💞🧿🪬💞
I’ve been watching older videos before I was watching regularly. Beautiful work. Never ceases to amaze me how EVT follows you. You have a good soul that’s why they want to communicate with you. 👻❤️
Hi GV yes i do remember watching this video before and yes Willy and you have done a good job well done so sad with the little ones rest in peace 🙏💐 take care GV thanks for sharing again 👍
Congratulations to all involved in the clean up ,great effort.cemeteries are I believe like encyclopaedias you never know what you will find. Let’s hope it remains this way, safe travels GV god bless, catch you on the next video.👋👋🙏🙏👍🇦🇺
I'm new to your site. Although I live in America, I'm Belgian, English and Scott. I love hearing the history of these departed souls. Do you think you will go to Scotland at some point? Great work you do. Thanks.
Great clean up job, watched all these virtually in a row, unraveled a few mysteries, and shone a bit more light on the history of the rebellion, which before I started watching this channel, I really didn't know anything about. Should sow the grounds with meadow seed, so when the grass grows in spring lots of little flowers come up, better than bramble.
Great job cleaning this graveyard! Thank you! Some really old headstones there. Thank you, GV, for this video. Wishing you and Sue and family a very Merry Christmas!
What a transformation! Well done thank you for all of the works and we wish your family a merry Christmas and happy new year! 🎊 Love from the Hudson Valley, NY
Did anyone notice the Kilmarnock spelling ? With 2 x LL ....Killmarnoch , wonder if that was a misspelled or was the correct spelling for the day .Thank you and well done to Willie , yourself , those that donated and anyone else that got this clean up started bringing history to light !!! Amazing to see the Patrick Doyle metal Celtic cross in such good condition .
This graveyard looks a thousand percent better. Thank you very much Willie, GV, and everyone else who had a part in this cleanup effort. Just a little bit here and there to get. The table tombs and headstones are interesting, and seem to be mostly legible. The barking dog was probably trying to convince its owner, that it is on the job 24/7 and should get more doggie treats. 😄 Great video, thank you very much GV, have a great day. 😊
@GraveVisitations EXACTLY!! I like your sense of humor 😄 Perhaps you can revisit this graveyard on Halloween 🎃 Thank you very much for getting back to me GV. Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄
@@michaelbedinger4121 this is same graveyard at night. Subscribe to our other channel ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SPfDEHeHTIk.htmlsi=-i7eLwn8K6904U4X
Good you found an Oscar wilde connection.. Those look like bluebell leaves..or possibly snowdrops .which will get a chance to bloom in spring..its good the integrity of the graveyard is still intact..with various young shrubs..sometimes graveyard clean ups can be over zealous..it would be good to follow this graveyard..
Will I can tell that took a lot of hard work and it looks great! I would actually enjoy cleaning those stones up and clearing more of the foliage. Make it a little more interesting. I would do that here in the states, trim the bushes and foliage around the headstones. Thanks for the outing , it is so beautiful there and lots of country land. I don't know if I will ever get there to see it so this is the second best way to see it. It feels like I could be right there looking at everything. Thanks 😊
I realise that it takes time, but there are so many other cemataries that are a total mess, I think Local Councils should be forced to clean them up, headstones as well, after all there are people buried underneath all that crap.
GV gracias por volver a la vida a todos estos difuntos que ya nadie se acordaba de ellos y que gracias a tus vídeos están volviendo a ser recordados. Una labor la tuya y la de Susan encomiable. Merry Christmas
Seeing those 18th century graves we tend to think that was long long ago but here is a fun fact ...the 10th president of America was born in 1795 ( Buchanan I think ) and can you believe 2 of his grandsons are still alive today !!! Youre probably laughing away at me thinking im mad ..... but its true , he didnt have children until his late 70s and his child also didnt have children till his own late 70s and 2 of his children are or were still alive at the ages of 92 and 94 at the end of the covid scare .... dont know about you but it amazed me !!! Have a look on wiki or somewhere similar youll find thats a true story .....
That's pretty amazing. I was born in 1958 and there were still a few Civil War veterans living at that time. I couldn't hardly believe it when I found out.
I often think it’s so sad, when I see Ivy or moss covering a grave stone. I feel that the person should have the very last words about their life, known about and read by people after they’re gone. It’s a long time since I’ve been to a cemetery, the Greyfriars Kirkyard being the last one I visited. It feels like it’s a nice thing to clear Ivy or moss etc. off the stone’s surface so it can be read and the person’s lifetime not completely forgotten.
