She Died Of Scarlet Fever | You Need A Key To Visit Her Grave 

My oldest son had a bought of Scarlet Fever back in 1984. He was 2 years old. Got him to the emergency room and they gave him antibiotics he turned out being allergic too. My poor baby blew up like a balloon with swelling. Took him back to the ER and they sent me to a really good doctor. He monitored him with antibiotics that worked well. I had never seen the white tongue before that. It was really frightening. I can imagine what her parents went through as well as how miserable she was.

Great to see Pte Canty memory being preserved. Ofen times these men from Ireland were shamed and forgotten about by the state but thankfully some attitudes are beginning to change and the sacrifice those brave Irish men who fought in the Great War are being remembered and shown the respect they deserve. Many don't know scarlet fever is a complication of strep throat. That's why they tell anyone diagnosed to watch for fever and rash

I think the artifact was an old mail Box. You see G.V. those old graveyards look good when they are well taken care of, the hard part is carving them out when they been neglected for so long.

Excuse my ignorance, but when there are the names of a whole family on a grave stone, does that mean a whole family are buried in the same grave. If so, how do they all fit in. It's a thing I've never thought about before 😊

I wish I had someone I could go round old cemeteries with, I'd feel a bit awkward going on my own, and anyone I do know wouldn't want to go because they don't like morbid stuff, though seeing graves on their own isn't really morbid to me.

Please do not go too close to the tombstones that have almost fallen over, because it has happened very often that these damaged tombstones suddenly fall over and that could possibly end up fatal for you!!!! Where are the actual old graves? Didn't they bury people back in the 14th or 15th century? Seems the oldest I ever see in the graveyards you visit are the late 1700s with most in the 1800s.

Could the overgrowth be left for wildlife? I know in the London Cemeteries, they leave a lot of the stones overgrown to allow the wildlife to thrive. The piece at the back of the ruin is a chimney cap . This one may have been used on the church.

The unknown object is called a spark arrestor, it goes on top of a chimney to stop sparks and embers from flying off

The artifact looks like a chimney topper. Has a hole in the bottom and vents on the sides to let out the smoke.

the thing you were wondering about, kinda looks like the topper of the sort of flu for a wood burning stove out take pipe. It is a curious looking thing.
