I feel kind of envious of people just discovering this game and not knowing anything about it. It was absolute torture waiting for this game to come out. Year after year, watching those fucking alpha update videos, never getting a release date and feeling the disappointment steadily growing. I spent my entire late teens and early twenties waiting for this game, and when it finally came out, I didn't even care anymore. It makes me kind of sad seeing gameplay of it now, it's like seeing an old friend after many years, and discovering you have nothing in common anymore.
There's something almost hypnotic about Overgrowth's architecture. All these huge monumental landmarks, open spaces which you traverse at the lightning speed... Almost feels like you playing Battlefield from the cockpit of a jet fighter.

I’ve been following Overgrowth since it’s waaaaaay waaaaaaaaay first alphas. I’m talking playing Lugaru before this bad boy was even a thought. Fell in love instantly, I’m just glad to see Overgrowth getting all the attention it deserves. Never will you see a more refined martial arts combat game like this. Shit just flows seamlessly

"Attention it deserves"? This game is a scam dude. A whole decade and they barely did shit with it. Every single fight is just dodge or parry and then throw, no depth whatsoever and it's been that way for years. It's a tech demo that they kept in early access for 10 years because they didn't know what to do with it, then just said fuck it and released as it is. Massive disappointment and waste of money.

Honestly the only thing this game is lacking and really needs is a compelling story. Everything else about this game is just "Drop kick that,kung fu this and simply have mindless fun" which is a good thing cus this game is just too damn fun and feels badass to play. Hopefully wildfire hires some good writters and maybe make a good story driven action game that takes place in this game's setting.
Best part is, since I've never played or been familiar with Overgrowth, I would never know how skillful any of these moves are. All I know, they're pleasing to the eye

It constantly astonishes me that after seeing this badass take out all of their friends, the last survivor says 'I've got this guy's number.' You don't got shit!
Amaizing, specially the movements interactions, i've never seen interactions so fluid and natural in any other game, BUT, one thing that bothers me is that the basic movements look weird, like chunky? not sure how to describe it. Like, the way he jumps looks so fake, not sure if its just because the way the camera follows him, or maybe is that i cannot feel the weight on him when he jumps, but the way he moves when he lands or kicks someone else in the air is just SO satisfying. Reminds me how in most games when you choke or do an animation to an enemy, your character kinda teleports onto him, but HERE, it looks so so so fluid i love it. Hopefully this humble opinion can help. I would say to check on uncharted's movements to guide you, you can feel the weight on natham when he goes from still to moving, and whenever he jumps, but you totally triumph on the aspect of enemy and environment interactions here (most of the time) where they failed.
I love how the wolf gets his big villain speech and then abruptly gets curb-stomped. Even when you think you're at the top of the food chain, you have to be careful who you front at.
This has some of the most fluid and flawless combat gameplay I have ever seen *AND I NEVER HEARD OF THIS BEFORE. It’s not even triple A yet it looks it.*
I've been following this game so long it feels almost like somebody in the AAA sphere should have picked it up and funded it by now. Such a fascinating concept.
Allot "more than just a dropkick simulator once YOU get used to it"!. Like any other game YOU play :) Was a time, I was looking for a decent 3d beat 'em up mechanics, with all its simpleness at a first glaze - this game is gold!

I know that Sekiro doesnt have such as freedom like overgrowth but have you ever considered making Sekiro montages? You cant be so creative like in other games but it looks cool (sorry for my broken english)
Your English is great and I think you’re absolutely right about Sekiro, I hope he tackles some games like this that value skill over spectacle. Maybe Bayonetta 1?
@T DW There's not much room to creativity in Sekiro. If you could swap your special move (like Ichimonji) without going to menu, it could be even more fun. Now you are stuck with parry, attack, dodge, special move and gadgets.
This game keeps evolving and that's magnificent. I remember trying the beta some years back and I like it a lot, even though it was crude, it had and has lots of potential. I love all the diferent biomes. You've spend quite some hours into it. Thanks for this video.
I’ve never played overgrowth, but something about the dev update videos is so calming. Maybe it’s nostalgia since I’ve been keeping up with it for years now. Anyway I get the same feeling from this video despite you’re just murdering.
39 seconds in and I gotta say... The ambush from atop a house going down onto a sloped dune like hill was magnificent. The instant action in the Traders Plaza at the docks was excellent. And that well timed spear grab? Words fail me but you gave the emphasis of 'use your enemies strength against them' a whole new meaning.

i love the little flips and rolls you do. also, this game is beautifully violent, i love the physic's and enemy reactions. (p.s. when you caught that spear in the first few minutes i was amazed lol)
did anyone actually played it? it seems like a very boring game designed to be somesort of lowkey powerfantasy. all u do is jump and press buttons and do the instakill. I don't see here neither a danger to the character nor the variativity of the fights
Bold words for someone who hasn't actually played it. Yeah, most people die a lot. If you don't spam leg-cannon it gets to be Dark Souls hard. It's hard to ever see danger because this was a successful play with all the retries edited out, and the enemies can kill you just as fast as he is killing them. By the time someone used to the pacing of a normal fighting game realized there was danger, the player would likely be dead or bleeding out.
A combination of a good assortment of complex, twitch based moves with endurance long-term exercises to showcase the variety of engaged combat. Excellent.
Damn this game might be worth buying now! Compared to the last time i saw it it's nearly a night and day difference how much it's wonderful how much its grown!
I finally bought this game and it is SO SATISFYING AND SOMETIMES WHEN I JUMP IT REMINDS ME OF A DREAM I HAD THIS ONE TIME WHEN I WAS JUMPING LIKE THAT and I love it
I remember randomly discovering this game in high school, it was like 2018 or 2019, I watched the full playthrough and enjoyed every minute, now I want to figure out how to properly master the controls without killing myself. :)
I have literally never seen a single clip from this game (so I'm disturbed and confused) but I appreciate the Muay Thai and Judo techniques used in gameplay LOL
