SO VERY HAPPY for you guys! It really helps to get in and do it yourself as you will undoubtedly have to make a repair at some point and need to have had the experience/knowledge you've gained now. Smart move to do it yourself. Love the way you guys laugh together - so encouraging to watch.

You've birthed 5 babies, you are *at least* as tough as your husband 😋 I just finished redoing the drip in my small garden and I'm so happy to have it done, drip tape was so much easier than other drip systems I've done in the past. Cheers to gardening in 2024 ❤

PRO-TIP: To help push the pipe onto the fittings much easier is to have a jug of hot water to hand so you can dip the ends of the pipe in to soften them up so they go on the fittings easier.

professionals just use a propane torch and heat for a second or two we also don't use what are essentially shark bite fittings. also one person holds the roll while the other walks it out

I’m curious why you are putting over head sprinklers in. Seems like drip pipe would be easier and you would have to drain it in the winter time. Also seems like there would be lots of moisture and possibly disease issues. But don’t have a high tunnel yet so I’m enjoying watching you guys. I really like to watch your channel.

Overhead irrigation is great for direct sowing and getting seeds to sprout. It's also great if you are growing leafy greens in a hot climate, having the sprinklers water a few times a day will help keep them cool so they don't get bitter. On the other hand, we will use the drip irrigation for disease control so the leaves of disease susceptible plants don't get wet. Tomatoes are a big one that we almost always switch over using drip irrigation for.

How do you determine which plants can be overhead watered as opposed to watering at the base of the plant and not get moldy or fungus, especially in a humid high tunnel

How many degrees warmer does your tunnel stay than the outside temperature?

Temperature varies based on if the sun is out or not and whether it’s daytime or night. There are too big of swings to say an exact amount. Everything in the tunnel is about six weeks ahead of what is growing outside.

We are wanting you to do an overhead system in our hightunnel how wide do they spray we have a 96x32 would it cover the width?

Your tunnel is double the width of ours. I would definitely recommend 2 sets. I don’t think one would be able to cover that much area.

They just quickly thrown some pipes together and it works fine. But if you want it to last for a few seasons you need to make it properly in my opinion..and mount it properly and protect it for example to frost sunlight etc. Especially if the lines are not flexibel..
