I pick up the same Shopsmith router table. My model came with dust collection & you can mount a router underneath the table for regular router operations. Once it’s set up correctly, it’s a must for guitar building. CNC sometimes is too much of a pain if your doing a 1 off. Great demo.
Recently was given one of these from a buddy of mine. Pretty slick. Half in pin gone and whole wrecked. 1/2 in is still there and good. Easy fix. Must be from the 70s. Has a Bosch 1/2 router runs like a top.
I usually placed a piece of 1/4" plywood on top of the pattern board between the workpiece and pattern to keep chips and dust from building up in the pattern holes. And requiring blowing the chips out of the pattern. It makes for a smoother operation.
