Overland Essentials at ...Home Depot?
Budget overland gear; Overlanding on a budget isn't as hard as you might think. I found tons of gear at even my local Home Depot. If you live somewhere where there aren't any overland or offroad shops nearby, maybe you can find the gear at your regular shops instead.
Obviously I would say try to buy local when you can but if you can't there always other options.This is just one part of a series of videos where I go to local shops and try to find budget offroad and overlanding gear.

FYI WATCHERS Winch recommendation for all.....among Jeepers many are no longer buying WARN and instead are buying the Badlands Apex 12k lb synthetic which can be found at Harbor Freight. There is a side by side chart comparison and it outperforms WARN. OTHER channels highly recommend it as qelll. You are seeing it more and more everywhere on Jeeps! I saw your Harbor Freight Video as well. As I recall you mentioned that winch. You can grab it when they have the 1 item 20 or 25% off sale. Buy the warranty which is about $175 extra but a must have...others have told me and the Store Manager independently mentioned it without my even asking...you can bring it back in just before 2 yr ends and exchange for new replacement ZERO NO QUESTIONS ASKED. FYI for others watching. JEEPER HERE! NOT JUST TOYOTA OVERLANDERS WATCHING! 👍😁 Thx for all your great info. Pam

The red Husky totes with the clear lids are amazing! They keep water and dust out, and it’s easy to see what’s inside of them at a glance. They are surprisingly affordable for what you get too. They are stackable also!

I love the husky 25 gal rolling box it’s fully sealed fits a full camp stove,and comes with locks built in. Two of them side by side fit perfectly in a truck bed like decked. I have even used it to haul firewood on top

As a user of the husky bins I would say that the ones with a clear too are nice. I have 3 that I use plus a small one for fry foods and spices, utensils, etc. it’s nice being able to kinda see what box is what and they have somewhat of a proof rubber seal. And the latches on them allow you to open a variety of ways. Also for the wise you can use duct tape as a fire starter. That glue burns well with the fibers.

I have used the warranty on one of those exact little Coast lights that you showed off. It was probably the best warranty experience I have ever had. I emailed them, they asked for proof that I owned a light, and then they sent me a whole new light.

Dope list, just make sure you keep an eye on the fine print buying the bed rack, the higher end ones meant for rooftop tents and such usually take the time to list a normal capacity (static), but also a different capacity that is rated for bouncing around off-road (dynamic). It's like how straps and ropes have a rated strength, and then a WLL working load limit which is usually less than half of its rated strength.

@ 0:44 Lowes Kobalt brand has one and its better then Ryobi for areal lighting, has 3x 2in by 3in led lights all around, it stands 6ft tall and its warm white/sunlight light hue. I got 2 of them and lights up the campsite really well especially when you're trying to setup at night and also attracts all the bugs to the light away from your tent/camp site which is a plus. 8ah battery will last 12-18h.

I've had a Smokey Joe that I got from HD abt 20 years ago. I recently got a new 14" stainless grate for it, but it is perfect for camping. A little bulky, yeah, but toss a small bag of charcoal and a grate brush and you are g2g. It also doubles as a fire pit when you're done cooking. I think it is still around 50/75 bucks. I do highly recommend the aftermarket stainless grate, that I got at Grillvana. The grate that comes with it will rust over time.

@@HotRod-wv4vm I think for me the Falken wildpeaks at the size I'm going just don't look great. At a 285/70/17 they look fantastic but for some reason when I see them at 35 or 37" they just look a bit like they don't have enough tread. It's purely aesthetic and it's a taste thing but I know they are probably better on road and in rain and snow like where I live, but I'm a victim of my own superficial tendencies sometimes.

Dude seriously. I just finished watching your video from harbor freight version of this video. Only question I have is this. Why show the duel jump box/air compressor if you don’t prefer them to dedicated single jump box and buying the portable air compressor as separate items? The duel setup with the jump box/air compressor system actually save space inside your rig! Unless you do what I prefer which is the duel ARB air locker for max traction but the two compressor setup also gives you the ability to air up tires but also gives you the ability to use air tools like impact guns air ratchets.
@OXFOOT
@OXFOOT 4 месяца назад
So I'm really just showing what you could get if you don't have a dedicated compressor like me and most avid overlanders have. I try to show more than one option when possible, but personally this isn't the route I would go since I have several high CFM compressors. Ideally you'd have a big jump started and the maxed out stats ARB dual, but if you're new or on a tight budget you could get one of those all in one units.
@robertpyles9289
@robertpyles9289 4 месяца назад
@OXFOOT yeah no I totally get that. You actually show several different versions of the same thing too. And I totally agree with you these are decent but not optimal options. But and the channel isn't mine, but if I had a channel I'd kinda push a lower tear version of the best option the onboard segregated jump box and onboard air system. But yeah I did catch that you showed not just 1 version you showed like 2 or 3 in each video. And those were what I went with when I started my overland journey. I have the dual ARB air compressor with the ability to use air tools and air my tires up as well. But it's like alot of channels that only do the bug out bag setups and only push life straws I ask them or simply suggest to them the sawyer mini water system over the life straw because they're both the same price but the sawyer mini filters further and alot more water then the life straw. It's pointless to suggest just the life straw only.
