Super helpful. Based on your review I just preordered an OD green color. Currently I’m using a Canvas White Duck Regatta but was looking for something that is free standing and maybe even a tad smaller and lighter. Thanks for the review
Nice report. I am debating on ordering this tent or a canvas tent from Springbar. Have you ever compared the two types and what are your thoughts? What is the benefit of having it so dark inside? Many people like the inside to be lighted naturally during the day.
In this price range ($1000+) you could also look at the bigger carp fishing bivvy's from Trakker, Nash, FOX and others. Available in all kind of configurations, quick to setup and made for harsh environments. And a dark inside is certainly not a "feature" for everyone. I like it light in the tent during daytime.
Have been using the V2 of the tent for just over 9 months now and love it. Did a detailed review on our channel and about to film an updated one. Love what they are doing at Overlandish
Glad you added weight and size. It’s my height at 5 ft and at 59 lbs too heavy for me to carry. 😢Also wouldn’t be able to pop up the top. Looks great though!
Oh wow that is reeeally nice. I own a basecamp 2 and love it. one of the best kep secrets. they are a little hard to find due to demand especially after the overland expo. This color with the add ons are so much better!
@@chineseempanada420 How funny, two of my favorite places. A bit hot in Anza for another couple months, but was just up in Big Bear a couple weeks ago. Love it up there. You get up there often?
@@4wdTALK yeah I do desert winters and higher elevation in the summer haha. I try to get out as often as I can but it’s never enough. I’m going to try out the basecamp in about 2 weeks in lake arrowhead area. Hopefully the grey stays a little cooler. I did notice the grey doesn’t block out as much light as the darker colors
I just got mine a few days ago, also olive green, I set it up once and overall I’m very happy. My one concern was how tight the door zippers were. Also I saw daylight coming thru a few seams where the walls meet the roof.
Congrats! Door zippers will likely stretch a tad after some use. You might want to take photos of the daylight and send to manufacture. Not sure how much are you talking about, and frankly they would be the one to advise on that. All I can say is mine is pitch black inside.
Sorry pal, I speak about aspects that stand out to me on the tent. I have yet to be in this exact tent when it was raining. So I wouldn't feel right speaking about that. Now that said, you can get the tent with a rain fly that will take care of your concerns about getting wet. Hope this helps friend.
I bought the same tent taking it out camping for new years I got the black stealth tent I’m kinda regretting not getting the olive green one now 😂 but still I agree it’s an amazing tent can’t wait to use it
Any concerns with water seeping in through that floor zipper? I feel like if you get enough water pooled up under the tent from a good rain, it'll seep right through
When it rains you want to make sure the floor is tucked under the tent. Full disclosure, I have not been in heavy rain. Here in California, just don't get it often. I have been in light rain, which in this incident, i didn't have it tucked under like it should have, I still didn't have any water issues inside.
This is supposed to be a four-season tent, and yet there is no port built into the tent for a wood stove smoke exhaust tube should you wish to use one. Any reason for that? Otherwise, I like the tent.
Hey bud, there are ports in the side where you can run your diesel heater hose into the tent. And it doesn't take much heat to get this space toasty. Hope that helps!
Not without some modifications. You would have to cut hole in side or sacrifice one of the port windows for stove pipe. I imagine some sort of fire heat shield along the wall and floor where you have the woodstove. I'm just speaking out loud and not recommending doing anything without doing your own research and factoring in risks.
ha ha ha! You rock buddy. Actually this is one of the easier tents I own to pack away. Come to think of it, for it's size to weight ratio, its the lightest.
