@LandRoverDrive
@LandRoverDrive Год назад
Thank you Tom! 🤗 The RRC was the perfect car for the drive up the old mountain road, in terms of how it looks, it fitted in perfectly. Love the pan shot on the side of the road, looks like it was taken a long time ago. It's something special driving the old cars on old gravel roads and I miss the old Defender a lot in that regard. That said you get to enjoy the views outside in another way when driving the Discovery, no worries and you can relax and just drive. And film for my sake. 😀 I hope to get a bit of both in the end and will be looking at possible RRC's for the future. Glad you liked the video Tom, more RRC is coming in the next episode next week. 😉

Epic drive up Tron Mountain, videography was excellent as always. Norway has some really beautiful scenery, I'd love to see it in person some day. Australia's highest mountain is Mount Kosciuszko at 2228mtrs, if you're interested do some Google search to see more about it, RU-vid doesn't like links being added in comments. Looking forward to the next adventure!
@LandRoverDrive
@LandRoverDrive Год назад
Hey Peter and thank you so much for joining in and sharing your thoughts during the Premiere. Norway is worth the trip as Australia is. Where in Australia are you situated? Seen so many videos from there so starting to get a slight overview. Will google it, can you drive it? The highest mountain in Norway, not drivable, is 2469, it's called Galdhøpiggen, you can see it in the EGR overland trip me and Erik did in Jotunheimen. There will be a follow up on this, a part two, it will be out in a couple of weeks I'm estimating. :) If there is something you think I should add to part two let me know. 👍 Simon

@@LandRoverDrive I'm located in northern NSW, on the east coast of Australia, about halfway between Sydney (NSW) and Brisbane (QLD). Coffs Harbour is nearby and it has some of the most intense 4WD tracks in the country, plenty of videos on RU-vid if you want to see some. Mount Kosciuszko can be driven for the most part but not right to the top. I have seen every video that you have posted but remembering names of all the destinations in them is beyond my brain power - but I will take particular note when you do your follow up visit with Erik.
@LandRoverDrive
@LandRoverDrive Год назад
Don't know how many times I have heard the name Coffs Harbour on @4wd247 channel, but it's many times. :) Half way between Sydney and Brisbane, isn't there a political center where meny of the politicians live? Think a saw a documentary about it. 🙂 You have seen all the videos, that's so cool to hear and warms my heart. I hope then you have noticed a bit of improvement along the way. 😅 Thank you again for your support Peter, I really appreciate it. Best, Simon.
@Peter-xtreme
@Peter-xtreme Год назад
@@LandRoverDrive Yes Simon I have noticed a lot of improvement in your videos from the early ones, but that's not saying the early ones were bad or not enjoyable. You are also correct regarding the north coast of NSW up to the QLD border having a concentration of celebrities, movie stars, and politicians calling the region home, and for good reason, a laid back lifestyle with beautiful scenery and an excellent climate - although it probably wouldn't be cold enough for you :)

Aloha, I’ve been watching your channel for a year, as your videos are at the crossroads of two interests I have; Land Rovers and Scandinavia. This video reminds me a lot of of climbing a mountain we have here on the big island of Hawaii, Maura Kea. I always tell our guest to descend the mountain in four wheel drive in low gear to prevent brake failure due to overheating too. Maura Kea is 4,207 m high and is snow caped. It’s our small spot of Scandinavia in Hawaii. I’m still waiting for my 110 High Capacity Pickup to be finished, so I can have similar adventures too. If ever in Hawaii, drop me a note. Aloha
@LandRoverDrive
@LandRoverDrive Год назад
Aloha Keith! 😀 Olson, sounds like a Swedish version of Olsen. Thank you for following the channel and watching the videos. There is a god mix of both on this channel for sure. 😀 I saw a documentary about Hawaii and saw the mountain I think, I don't remember the name but it was so high you could go skiing or snowboarding up on the top which made me think. Snow is not what comes to mind when thinking about Hawaii. Bot your lucky to have a bit of both, mountains and the beach. 👌 Low gear, I think it was good to put in there cause my wifed actually asked when I said how steep it really was. And that got me thinking that not everyone that is watching on youtube knows this so good to just add it. If just one person learn something then the video was worth making. 👍 A 110 HCPU is really nice and I would Definitely have one if I could. I miss my 110 and will get an older Land Rover again at some point, maybe for my 40th birthday in three years. 😉 1985 RRC is the goal. Lovely to hear from you Keith, always great to get comments from around the world. I find it so cool that someone in Hawaii is watching videos I have made in Norway. If ever in Hawaii, would have been an amazing to experience, I will definitely keep that in mind. Best, Simon.

@@LandRoverDrive Correct, my last name comes from Swedish linage. I believe the second “s” was dropped when my ancestors migrated to the US in the 1910’s from Orebro & Nykoping, Sweden. I appreciate all the video’s you have uploaded over past few years. I really enjoy watching the breathtaking scenery of Norway and your adventures in the back country. It appears you have a great group of people to share your Land Rover and off road passions. I also enjoy learning about Norwegian culture in your videos on top of all the great Land Rover tips. Keep up the good work! Here in Hawaii, people are either Makai (towards the ocean) people or Mauka (towards the mountain) people. I’m a Mauka person… I believe Norway may have Mauka and Makai people too. An aquaculture venture capital group call Hatch recently relocated their headquarters to Hawaii from Bergen, Norway where I work (Natural Energy Laboratory of Hawaii). I also find it interesting that halfway around the world, you can find knackebrod, lingonberries and Gevalia coffee in Hawaii. Hawaii has a berry called Ohelo that is very similar to the lingonberries. I believe there are more similarities than differences. Aloha!
@LandRoverDrive
@LandRoverDrive Год назад
@@keitholson7632 Hehe, we always have a pack of knekkebrød in the pantry. 😊 will try to add more culture in the next ones then, I as you, like to hear about other cultures. So interested and indeed there are a bit of a difference between the coastal and mountain people here in Norway as well. But maybe more fjord people, due to all the fjords. You get a bit of both. Thanks for sharing Keith, very interesting to hear/read. 🤓
