I picked up a few tall books, but haven't used many pages. That is about to be rectified. I've been making happy mail to send to friends and family, just to cheer they up. Guess what my new goodie holders will be. A continued thank you for all you do for this community.
What a cute and simple pocket! I have a hard time finding nice, or large, book pages where I live. But this would be great for using some scrapbook paper I don't really like. Thanks Joie for the idea!!
Especially love the brad closure. You're so calm and so easy to follow. You're very good at this and I'm sure a very good Mom to your beautiful cat 🐱!💜💙
This is so sweet!! Its already on my TO DO LIST for my current journals. I just love it. I also think it would make a nice birthday folio card! Filled with tags & journal cards,...with poems, personal message, Bible verse, and nice quotes! It would make a unique card, I think. I like to make cards for my family. They love to receive them. And have started doing cards in vintage, junk journal style. Its do fun. And nothing like a "card" I would purchase. These are perfect for all journals. And great insert clipped onto a page. 0r simply glued onto a page, like you said. Thx for great video. I love spending time with you watching your channel. You are such a sweetheart! So kind. And relaxing to listen to. Austin,TX USA
Joie…I don’t know how I found your tutorials but I’m so glad I did! You make it look so easy…and you are so quick. The decoration side of mine take aaaaages,,,but boy am I enjoying myself thanks to you xxx
Love this idea! Last weekend, I scored a book of music for Beethoven’s Sonatas. It’s almost an inch thick! The copyright date is 1894 and I paid a whole $1 US for it. The pages will be perfect for this project. I’ve been working on my first altered book and I need a break, so I know what I will be doing this afternoon! Thank you so much!
Thx so much for sharing. Love this project. Just like the last one with the envelopes.Time flies! Haven’t had time to do them. So much ideas to work on.
I do love your style, and what you do with the book pages.. very creative.. like no one else's. Another favorite of my channels, that I think, anyone who watches her channel, can always learn something new, I always do...is Bohemian crafter! Her style is more shabby grungy vintage... She has something new with pretty blue butterflies! Such a contrast in her styles.
@@joiedefi I just noticed the pink Amity Bloom washi tapes!! Now I'm jealous! Love her style as well, even though.. shhhh.. she kinda Acts like a 12 year old.
I made this over the last few days. Truth is, I'm still working on it. I used paper from a world Atlas I found at a flea market for the entire project ...I love how it turned out. So fun! Your tutorials are inspiring and note-worthy. You are an excellent teacher!
Thank you so much Joie, I really really enjoyed watching you create these triple pockets. I really really love ❤️ them and the way you teach. I really really love ❤️ this idea too. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
I love your washi trick on the pockets and I have used it already 😬 I just received a craft goodies parcel today and I also splurged on some great new washi, pity I wasn't more careful with what distress ink I put into my cart 🙄 I ordered the distress ink instead of the oxide one 😭. Love your latest pockets, they are on my project list ❤️❤️
What a simple idea. I have a few folders like these, so now an idea on using the pages. How pretty is that washi tape 😛 excellent selection of stamps. Must follow through and add to mine. Thanks once again for your simple and easy to follow instructions. Always learning something new. Cheers, Maz.
Awesome pockets! Love the trifold! Great tutorial! Beautiful job! Love the washi too! Thank you for sharing! God bless! Love hugs and prayers my friend! ✝️😇💜🤗🙏✝️
I just love making these. I made one a long time ago and always loved it and so I've made another one out of my Britannia book by Dennis Flanders I always liked them made out of that book but I may have to try them out of something else too. So this one I put in my "joie defi" journal . Blessings and love for continued healing
I cannot wait to try this today or over the weekend! For mother's day I was given an Amazon gift card and I bought myself a bunch of washi and some watercolor supplies. I was definitely inspired by your work and how much fun I have when I try out your ideas and techniques!
What beautiful pockets, Thank you so much for sharing! Your binder filled with the amazing book pages would make an awesome large altered junk journal art binder when you’ve about used all the pages, I’ve had a lot of fun with some big old binders lately ☺️ Thanks again!
GOOD MORNING JOIE😁. This would be lovely for happy mail. There's a lot of real estate with those pages, I have kids books that would work I think. I love that your pockets all work with whatever we have. There's some lovely buildings on your pages 😍 I love architecture. Barber showed some stunning buildings in her last video. Austria is so beautiful 😍. Americans say ladybug but bugs bite and ladybirds are beetles, no idea why we say 'bird' 😄. I'm an oil painter really but sitting at the easel is difficult now so I'm exploring other options. Watercolour stresses me out 🙈🙊🙈 I'm comfortable with mixed media, more robust. Subtle doesn't come easy to me 😄. Oh wat a pretty letter and gift 😍. There was nail glitter in there 😍. I've been working with pink lately, so out of my comfort zone. Cool project. Tfs and have a great week 💖💖💖
Hi joie: I love everything with flips, flaps and pockets. This did not disappoint. Very clever how you designed these with large book pages. Makes the project a bit easier than cutting out papers from scratch. Your signature art is the finishing touch. I went to Amity Bloom’s Etsy shop just today. Will have to go back and check out her Washi Tapes. Thank you for sharing and inspiring. 💜😎🇺🇸
@@joiedefi I just have to tell you that I scored a large paged book from the free table at my mobile home park. Will go back to watch this tutorial and make one.
Greetings, it's a rainy day here today but a perfect day to make these Lovely pockets, Fabulous tutorial as always I can't wait to get started on these! Thank you! Enjoy your weekend Joie 🥰
I know I made some of these but I've used them all so I guess it's time to make some more I have had problems with coughing that caused me damage to my muscles and ribs. So I have not been doing too much lately in crafting. Blessings and love looking forward to seeing you soon
Joie: I like this project. The book pages started the whole theme of vintage, which I adore. I think adding the washi tape as a decorative element and to make the edges a bit more sturdy is a good idea. A good project. Carol from California
Love this idea and will be using this concept in my mini accordion booklets. Thanks for the project share and I hope you have a fabulous weekend. Take care! 💜
Hi Joie! I love this video so much! I started watching yesterday and couldn’t finish it cause I needed to do one with you! I was luck to have tall pages like yours! They are turning out so beautiful! I love them! Thank you so much for sharing your videos and inspiration! Have a beautiful Friday! ♥️
I sat and folded a bunch of these yesterday after seeing this I have a lot of tall book pages would love to see what else you come up with to use them for
Thank you for another "how to" inspiring video! You're a great instructor and make things simple even when they seem difficult. I appreciate all your efforts! 💜💜💜💜💜
Love the postage stamps.... might have to be on my wish list! I made a variation of the overlap pockets yesterday for #kindnessbypost card... I turned the pockets into tag holders and send some handmade tags to my recipient. It worked so well..
When I use book pages with pictures, I try to use them in a way, as to enhance the actual photos, with maybe some paint, washi, scrapbook paper, etc, as to balance them together, not covering them up completely, unless they don't fit the theme or are upside down or something. Then I would cover them completely. And then, wherever the typeface is, I'll either use that as background for other pictures, papers, or whatever, or even covering it slightly with gesso... blending in everything, to make the whole piece, cohesively balanced together. Then it doesn't just look like a book page, covered up, where you look at it, and wonder what's behind everything, or why is covered up..
@@joiedefi your welcome dear. It's funny sometimes, when I watch alot of, how people do stuff, in their journals... I get frustrated.. and say, why did you cover that?! That was so nice... and when some do happy planning with stickers... They try to be so perfect in their layout, that they actually cut their beautiful flowers or butterflies in half, as if they're off the page.... And I say, noooo!
Minutes 22.50 and 24.50. To cover up those pretty houses (even if for functionality) was a crime. 😊 But I love the whole project and the neatness tips, thanks!
I suspect they would be too flimsy Kim. Just my view. It needs some rigidity in the paper. Maybe thicker magazine pages?? Also magazines release a lot of print so are a bit messier to deal with. 🥰🥰
I'd like to see you create something from a pretty bunch of pictures on a book page without gluing a bunch of other stuff over the great pics that are uglier than the pictures. Not being hateful, just challenging you to create from the one piece of book page.
