I actually never put this together but, does Brain really can't use martial art? Is this why he drink some potion instead when he fight Cocytus? Because I remember he did use ability boost or something after he drink it
He can use martial arts. He uses God Flash and Field for the martial arts technique Whistling Wind. He later is able to use Fourfold slash of light in season 4(which was one of Gazef's martial arts technique) In the match against Cocytus, he was nearly boosting his power He's the second best martial artist behind Gazef

@@namikazevindu6440 U can simply measure their strength parameters like this - Clementine was around level 32. Gazef in base is around level 27 (which is very high for a human warrior) but when he puts on the armor and Razor Edge,he gets the +4 boost as a whole making him eligible for the hero elites (31+ level belongs to the class of heroes). Gazef with his full strength is almost on par with Clementine. Brain used 3 potions to boost his stats overall and entered the 31+ level class. He surpassed Gazef at that moment and when he uses his True Nail Clipper,he broke all his limits and went beyond the range of a hero elite (around 40+). That difference was too much for him but it didn't make much of an impact against Cocytus.
