Stopped at Walmart on my way north and picked up their cheapest kayak. Took said kayak into the ocean and found a rather comfortable island to spend the night on. Https://www.fishermanslife.net Drybag, Jigs, Clothing Etc
Hey Matt, I have that same cheap Kayak that I used to take out on the ocean fishing and crabbing, I developed similar scratches on the bottom rear as in your video and thought it was okay, then one day I was about 2 miles out of Santa Cruz and realized I was sinking. It was leaking from those little scratches, I barely made it back to land after struggling to paddle a water laden kayak and frequent stops bailing the hull with a gatorade bottle. I ditched it and bought a real ocean worthy Hobie outback kayak. So be safe my Brother!
I love your broke series. Please post more! I'm a disabled Veteran and broke as hell. Your broke videos help alot of people get out fishing on the cheap.
Hahaha the amount of anxiety I had when you were getting on the kayak at the end. I literally had my hands over my face when you were turned around facing the back trying to not dump. I love kayaks.
Great video Matts. Just an idea but I would recommend attaching a rope to your kayak in case a sneaker wave pulls the kayak out when you're unloading, you'll have a 2nd chance at retrieving your kayak.
That’s what I call a Real Adventure, to me i call that also 3C’s Catch,Cook and Camping. Thank you Matt for showing and sharing your great video , I love it.
Your videos are so awesome, sure makes passing the time at work better. Sad I missed the street fair but thanks for the videos, especially for those close enough that cant make it out. I've learned so much watching your videos. Hope to make it out there and try my luck. You tha man.
let's be real, if you aren't doing it now you wouldn't be doing it with a someone like him, there's nothing stopping you from doing it by yourself if he's doing it by himself.
@@postmodernism06 that's the thing man, i was a gamer when i was young like hardcore MMO gamer but as i get older i wanted to go out more so now i got really good at fishing and going to places to fish alone, it was weird at first but i get use to it and i enjoy every moment that i am out there now.
@@postmodernism06 two months later I bet you haven't done anything. When the Big C hit I got a rod and reel and started fishing. a year later bought a boat and started my own adventures learning all I could. Now I've sold my boat and in the market for a kayak to try out new adventures. Get outside and do something. Heck go walk a local trail, visit a park, etc.
What a banger video. So glad you made it. I remember you only had 14k subs! I thought to myself why has this man not gone viral. Now that I'm in the same industry I realize it takes a lot of time, dedication and consistent uploading. So hopefully one day I can make it like you. I've learned so much about fishing throughout the years watching you fish. You didn't just inspire me and I'm sure load of other people but you always remain calm collective and very humble. Stay fishing -Johnny.
Cool. Much better than swimming, especially with gear. You can get up there easy peasy. Nice job. woohoo... Absolutely beautiful... Flowers everywhere. What the heck,,,, no bacon, no tent,, just a pad and a bag. Hope you brought ear plugs for those noisy birds. That's som nice looking lunch man,,,ah and you threw him back. lol I think that seal is getting a good laugh. He's not even hanging around. There ya go. Looks like YUM! Great video...... so I gotta tell you... I"m 75, still kayak but take the easy roads now due to a health issue. I really appreciate you taking me on these adventures I can no longer do. Thank you so much. You're sharing more than a youtube video. Hope you and your wife have a fantastic 2023.
Fantastic video Matts! I was smiling all through that video. I thought the location looked familiar. I remember your abalone vid there. Glad you got back safely from the island. Btw...I saw the bird got you divebombed on your shorts 😁. Hope you had an awesome time. 🙂
Love these Camp & Cook videos! The excitement when catching that little one... I could really feel that. FL Street fare was really dope too, definitely worth the trip and nice meeting you. Keep it up and tight lines!
You had me rolling. I couldn’t stop laughing when you were half paddling away ‘cus it brought me back to something similar I did on an island by San Rafael. Your vids. Are so real and they provide a connection to the past, present and hopefully future adventures I’ve experienced. Thank you. From the motorcycle guy in Petaluma. Watching this adventure of yours was priceless. On the serious tip, I’m glad your safe b
Been watching your videos for almost 7 years . Really enjoy your content and the success of your channel. Usually you are very pragmatic . This video was reckless . No life jacket ?! A few cords of rope and some carabiners to secure the boat to the island . You’ve got a family you’ve got to be safe in the waters . God.Bless .
Again, an awesome fun video! Thanks for sharing with us! Now, for PaPa Grumpy... Kayaking in the ocean without a life jacket OR a radio? What if you had slipped or been bashed up against the island more? Just would like you to keep making videos :)
dont know how i missed your channel for so long but now its time to watch everything and maybe one day my channel will be that good :) greetings from Greece !
Super video . Spoons , like actual spoons , classic , and then dispatching and eating the fish with it 😅 felt for you getting on and off the island with the swells sometimes . I've had a few hairy moments 😂 cheers for the video 👍👍 still on the butter too I see
That was something I've always wanted to do, sleep overnight and fish on one of the small islands off the CA coast. It looked like it was a lot harrier landing and casting off . than I thought it would be YIKES. Just one other word....PFD, PLEASE.🤐 Keep these great videos coming in.
Hahahah actually made me laugh when the Sea Gull said “SUP”. Enjoyed this one a lot. Almost as much as any trout vid you make with tons of butter and avocado.
I have done something like this without camping on an island but I've taken my kayak out to a jetty that the only real access is to swim/kayak/boat or walk carefully to a very low tide. No public access really but I know the feeling of launching off the rocks😅 you can't land nore launch without the kayak being eaten a bit by the rocks. Great adventure
Great video and adventure. Please add some drone video on your adventures too. I do a lot of kayaking, drone flying videos and drone livestreams too. I bought two 8' Lifetime Daylite kayaks from Walmart. Never stayed overnight with them though. Kudos to you. Add a safety line to your kayak.
